  • PLANTED 70 Women. 7 Years. 1 Mission

  • Created by Pieces of Kandakes, the Women Empowerment Project (WEP) MPLS was established to celebrate, elevate, and amplify the voices of women through storytelling, visibility, and authentic connection.Since 2019, WEP has celebrated and amplified the voices of more than 70 women from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. In 2026, 10 women will be selected as Kandake Models, bringing the total number of women featured through the project to 80. More than a photoshoot, this experience is an opportunity to share your story, inspire others, and become part of a growing legacy of women whose voices deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Whether you are overcoming low self-esteem, growing in confidence, stepping into your purpose, or walking boldly in who you have become, we welcome women from all stages of life and growth. Our goal is not to define your story. We exist to amplify your voice, on your terms.

  • What It Means to Be a Kandake Model

  • Being selected as a Kandake Model is more than participating in an editorial photoshoot.
  • Being selected as a Kandake Model is more than participating in an editorial photoshoot.

A Kandake Model represents the mission of the Women Empowerment Project by courageously sharing her story, inspiring others, and serving as a visible representation of leadership, resilience, and empowerment.

    Selected participants will:

    - Share their personal story through the Women Empowerment Project.

    - Collaborate with designers and participate in an editorial photoshoot.

    - Be featured in Kandake Korner Magazine printed magazine.

    - Represent the Women Empowerment Project and Pieces of Kandakes through promotional campaigns and community initiatives.

    - Help amplify the voices of women while encouraging others through authenticity and purpose.

    - The editorial experience showcases the woman. Her story is what creates the impact.

  • Your Story

  • The Women Empowerment Project is not a modeling competition.

While selected participants will participate in an editorial photoshoot and collaborate with designers, the photos are simply a way to help tell each woman's story.

The heart of WEP is storytelling.

Every woman has a story worth telling, and our driving  mission is  a platform where those stories can be seen, heard, and celebrated. We are seeking women who are willing to authentically share their journeys to encourage, inspire, and empower others.

If your primary interest is participating in a photoshoot, this experience may not be the best fit. If your desire is to use your story to make an impact, we encourage you to apply.
