Program Dates:

The Vanguard Accelerator Program is an intensive 8-week workforce and college-readiness program for emerging filmmakers ages 16–25 who have completed or nearly completed a film and would like to enter it in the film festival circuit.
Participants will receive mentorship and career guidance from working professionals in directing, producing, cinematography, sound, and editing while developing industry-standard materials for their own projects, including loglines, synopses, artist bios, pitch decks, resumes, and film festival applications.
Applicants from Harlem, Washington Heights, greater Upper Manhattan as well as the Bronx are encouraged to apply. Those who have completed Maysles’ Teen DocMakers or Vanguard DocMakers program are also encouraged to apply. These programs are not a prerequisite for enrollment.
The workshop meets once a week for three hours. Materials, related equipment, meals and a stipend of $10/hour for attendance is provided.
