    Congratulations on becoming a House Creeper! This role is an important part of Fear Columbus's leadership team and comes with additional responsibilities beyond those of a Performance Staff member.

    The following agreement outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and procedures associated with the position. Please review each section carefully before acknowledging your understanding. If you have questions at any point, don't hesitate to ask—we're here to help.

  • BEFORE WE BEGIN

  • LEADERSHIP RESOURCES
    As a House Creeper, you're expected to be knowledgeable about the resources available to both you and your actors. While this agreement covers many of your responsibilities, it isn't intended to include every policy or procedure. Additional information, training materials, and operational resources are available throughout the season, and it's your responsibility to stay informed and know where to find them.

    These resources include, but are not limited to:

    • Staff emails and announcements
    • Training videos
    • Leadership meetings
    • Printed resources throughout the building
    • Guidance from Management and fellow leadership team members

  • DAILY TIMELINES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 4:30pm | ARRIVAL
    Upon arrival, clock in and begin preparing for the night. House Creepers are expected to lead by example, which starts with being prepared before Performance Staff begins arriving.

    Arrival Expectations

    • Arrive on time whenever possible.
    • Communicate known scheduling conflicts through the appropriate channels.
    • Notify G immediately if I'm unexpectedly running late.
    • Eat before clocking in.
    • Begin getting into costume and makeup immediately after clocking in.

  • 4:30pm–5:15pm | NIGHTLY PREP
    Once clocked in, this time should be spent getting fully prepared for the night. The more preparation completed before staff arrives, the smoother the entire operation runs.

    Nightly Preparation Expectations

    • Test my walkie before leaving the costume room.
    • Go to the first available makeup artist.
    • Begin my assigned nightly tasks while waiting for makeup whenever possible.
    • Complete my opening checklist before the nightly staff meeting.
    • Keep my locker area organized and follow all fire safety expectations.
    • Store personal belongings appropriately and help keep shared staff areas clean.

  • 5:15pm | NIGHTLY CREEPER MEETING
    The nightly Creeper meeting serves as our leadership check-in before staff arrives. This is where important operational updates, concerns, assignments, and expectations for the evening are communicated.

    Creeper Meeting Expectations

    • Arrive at the meeting on time each night.
    • Pause makeup if necessary in order to attend.
    • Participate in discussions and ask questions when clarification is needed.
    • Bring concerns forward through the appropriate channels.
    • Be fully prepared to leave the costume room immediately after the meeting concludes.
      • Includes being in costume and in posession of any mask, props, and accessories I may need for the night.

  • 5:30pm–6:15pm | STAFF ARRIVAL
    As Performance Staff begins arriving, my role shifts from preparing myself to preparing the team. House Creepers should be available, approachable, and actively helping staff get ready for a successful night.

    Leadership Expectations

    • Refer to the Creeper Task Board for nightly assignments and complete my task(s) before opening.
    • Be available to answer staff questions.
    • Check in with new actors to ensure they understand their role and feel confident.
    • Relay important nightly information to Performance Staff.
    • Help ensure costumes, masks, and accessories fit properly.
    • Assist fellow Creepers when additional help is needed.
    • Prioritize the needs of the team before taking personal downtime.

  • 6:15pm–6:30pm | NIGHTLY MEETING
    The nightly staff meeting is our final opportunity to make sure everyone is prepared before opening. House Creepers set the example during this time and help ensure staff is where they need to be.

    Opening Expectations

    • Ensure staff are present for the nightly meeting.
    • Complete my opening checklist before the pump-up meeting concludes.
    • Stay out of the costume room once it closes unless specifically instructed otherwise.
    • Report to my assigned location immediately after the meeting.
    • Help direct actors to their assigned scenes.
    • Complete a final walkthrough of my zone before opening.
    • Report any concerns through the opening checklist before contacting Marco or Cam unless it's an immediate safety concern.

  • 7pm-Close | OPERATIONS
    Once the doors open, House Creepers become the primary leaders within their assigned attractions. Our responsibility is to support our actors, maintain show quality, solve problems, and keep operations running smoothly throughout the night.

    Operational Expectations

    • Remain in my assigned attraction unless assisting another area or on break.
    • Make consistent rounds throughout my zone.
    • Coach and support actors whenever needed.
    • Help maintain scene quality and guest experience.
    • Enforce rules and guidelines.
    • Address inappropriate behavior or report concerns through the proper channels. This means completing Discipline Reports when necessary.
    • Use good judgment when unexpected situations arise and communicate with leadership if additional support is needed.

  • 8pm | BREAKS
    Breaks are an important part of keeping our team energized and our operation running smoothly. As a House Creeper, you're responsible for managing breaks fairly while maintaining scene coverage, supporting your actors, and using good judgment throughout the night.

    Break Expectations

    • Begin breaks around the scheduled break time unless operational needs require an adjustment.
    • Communicate when you're beginning breaks via walkie.
    • Ensure every actor receives a break.
    • Ensure only one actor per zone is on break at a time.
    • Use the provided stopwatch to keep breaks consistent and fair.
    • Remain in designated Gold Scenes during breaks.
    • Continue to roam my zone providing coverage in non-Gold scenes.
    • Offer additional restroom or water breaks throughout the night.
    • Remain available to assist actors or respond to operational concerns while breaks are taking place.
    • Take my own break only after my actors have been taken care of and my zone is operating smoothly.

  • DISMISSAL
    This is just as important as opening. Proper closing procedures ensure we're ready for the following operational night and help keep our attractions clean, organized, and safe.

    Closing Expectations

    • Walk my zone before leaving.
    • Remove trash and replace liners when necessary.
    • Check scenes for damage and submit Scene Repair Forms when appropriate.
    • Complete the nightly Closing Form before clocking out.

  • EMERGENCIES AND PROBLEM SOLVING

  • INJURY AND ILLNESS
    The safety of our staff and guests always comes first. If someone becomes injured or ill, remain calm, assess the situation, and notify the appropriate leadership immediately. Never assume someone else has already called for help.

    Injury & Illness Expectations

    • Contact Daeshawn immediately over the walkie for any injury or illness involving a guest or staff member.
    • Clearly communicate your location and provide any important details about the situation.
    • Escort the individual to the nearest exit if they are able to walk safely, or remain with them until help arrives if they cannot.
    • Request cleanup assistance if bodily fluids or other hazards are present.
    • Avoid discussing medical conditions with other staff beyond what is necessary for safety and communication.
    • Continue supporting your zone while leadership handles the situation, unless instructed otherwise.

  • SCENE REPAIRS
    Our attractions experience normal wear and tear throughout the season. House Creepers are expected to identify problems early, complete simple repairs when appropriate, and communicate larger issues so they can be addressed quickly and safely.

    Scene Repair Expectations

    • Perform minor repairs that can be safely completed using the provided supplies.
    • Report anything that could impact safety or operations to Marco immediately.
    • Complete a Scene Repair Form whenever a repair is non-urgent but beyond a minor fix or requires follow-up.
    • Never attempt repairs that require specialized tools or training.

  • COSTUME MALFUNCTIONS
    Costumes, masks, and props occasionally become damaged during operation. House Creepers are responsible for helping actors resolve these issues quickly while maintaining the overall quality of the attraction.

    Costume Malfunction Expectations

    MASKS

    • Take the damaged mask from the actor and nstruct them to continue performing.
    • Walkie G to let her know I'm on my way to the costume room.
    • Tell G which scene the replacement mask is for.
    • Return the replacement mask to the actor as quickly as possible.

    COSTUMES

    • Escort or send the actor to the costume room for a replacement.
    • Walkie G to let her know we're on our way.
    • Tell G which scene the costume is being replaced for.
    • Once the actor has changed, have them return directly to their scene.

    PROPS AND ACCESSORIES

    • Collect the broken prop or accessory from the actor.
    • Place it in the designated "Broken Props & Accessories" bin outside the costume room.
    • Understand that broken props and accessories will not be replaced during operation.
    • Continue operations without notifying G, as walkie communication is not necessary for these items.

  • LEADERSHIP COMMITMENT

  • By signing below, I acknowledge that I have reviewed this Leadership Agreement and understand the expectations of the House Creeper position.

    I understand that I am responsible for upholding these expectations, utilizing the resources available to me, and communicating with management whenever I need clarification or support. I also understand that failure to meet these expectations may result in coaching, reassignment, or removal from the House Creeper position if necessary.
