ANNUAL TUITION, FEES & POLICIES

General Tuition Information
Annual tuition is based on enrollment in a full dance season, not on the number of classes in any given month.

To make payments more manageable for families, tuition can be paid in one of the following ways:

• Paid in full (September 1) - discounted
• Two installments (September 1 and January 1) - discounted
  10 equal monthly payments (September–June, 1st of every month)

Please note:

• All prices listed are before GST
• A 3% fee applies to credit card payments
• There are no discounts for monthly payment plans

Monthly payments are only available via cheque or credit card (no cash or e-transfer monthly payments)

Tuition fees include class instruction only and do not include:

• Registration fee
• Costume deposits
• Performance tickets
  Additional show or competition related costs (where applicable)

If registering for more than one class, the second class (or lower-priced class) receives a 20% discount.

Understanding Your Tuition Payments
Tuition at Saskatoon Salsa Dance Company is based on enrollment in a full dance season, not on the number of classes held in a particular month.

To make dance training more affordable and predictable for families, annual tuition is divided into 10 equal monthly payments from September through June.

This means monthly payments remain the same regardless of how many classes occur in a given month. Some months may include fewer classes due to holidays, studio events, or showcase preparation, while others may include additional instructional time.

Your monthly payment is an installment toward your annual tuition, not a payment for that specific month’s classes.

This approach allows families to budget consistently while ensuring students receive the full value of their dance education over the entire season.

Registration Fee
A one-time registration fee of $35 + GST per student/family applies.
This fee covers studio administration and processing costs.

Costume Fees
Costume deposits are due:

• September 1
• January 1

Fees per costume:

• Recreational & adult teams: $120 + GST
• Competitive teams: $150 + GST

Deposits go toward the total costume cost. Remaining balances will be invoiced approximately 2 weeks before each showcase.

*NEW* Performance Ticket Participation Policy
At Saskatoon Salsa Dance Company, our performances celebrate the hard work, dedication, and growth of our dancers. Producing a professional showcase involves significant costs including venue rental, technical production, lighting, sound, photography and videography, administration, marketing, and staffing.

To help support these productions while keeping training costs as accessible as possible, all performers are required to participate in ticket sales for each showcase.

Ticket Requirement
For each performance (June and December showcases), every performer/family is responsible for a minimum of four (4) tickets. You are not required to sell more if you have more than one family member at the school.

A ticket invoice will be issued approximately one month before the show and must be paid no later than one week prior to the performance date.

Additional Tickets
Additional tickets may be purchased or sold, subject to availability.

Opt-Out Option
If a performer does not wish to participate in ticket sales, an opt-out fee of $60 per show per family is available.

Opt-out participants will not receive tickets and will not be responsible for ticket sales. The opt-out fee is due by the same invoice deadline.

Why This Policy Exists
Our showcases rely on strong audience attendance to remain sustainable and successful. Ticket sales help offset production costs and ensure we can continue delivering high-quality performance opportunities.

Performers play an important role in building audience engagement and creating a vibrant, supportive community at each showcase.

LIABILITY WAIVER

By signing this waiver, I, the prospective client, being 18 years of age or older, understand that Saskatoon Salsa Dance Co. Inc, the hosting facility and the instructors thereof are not liable for personal injuries or loss of, or damage to personal property. I understand that participating in dance classes involves the possibility of physical injury. I therefore assume all risks involved in the participation of the Saskatoon Salsa Dance Co. classes. I hereby release Saskatoon Salsa Dance Co. and staff from any liability with respect to damage or injury that I or my participating minor child may suffer during physical activity except where the damage or injury is caused by gross or willful negligence of the staff within the scope of their duties.  

 

TERMS & CONDITIONS

We do not offer refunds or credits. The cancellation policy is as follows: cancellation must be submitted in writing two weeks prior to the start of the semester (September 1st, January 1st) to receive a 50% refund for that semester. After two weeks prior to the semester, there are no refunds or credits given, no exceptions for any reason and you will be responsible to pay out the contract if you quit (if you are making monthly payments).

 

In the event that the government regulations require Saskatoon Salsa Dance Co. to cease in-person operations due to a pandemic, classes will be moved online via Zoom for a MAXIMUM of 4 weeks. After the 4 weeks of Zoom, we will take a break and then schedule make up classes for any time that was missed. There will be no refunds.

 

In the event of a late payment, participants will be charged $25.00.  In the event of NSF, participants will be charged $40.00. We don't allow spectators. We require a minimum of 6 participants to run a class. If low enrolment occurs, registered students will be notified 24 hours in advance and given a full refund or given the option to switch classes. All participants are expected to be respectful and focused. We reserve the right to remove participants from the class at any time for any reason. 

 

All choreography offered is copyright to Saskatoon Salsa and their instructors and may not be used without permission. This includes recording at events and lessons and performing the choreography outside of Saskatoon Salsa events.

 

If you have chosen to pay by credit card monthly, auto credit card payments will be set up at registration and sent electronically. Saskatoon Salsa does not keep credit card numbers on file. If you opt in for monthly automatic credit card payment, you MUST create the monthly payment through our secured credit card processor on receipt of registration email. Failure to set up automatic payments will result in your class enrollment being cancelled. All credit card payments are processed by a secure third party, which will be noted in your registration / automatic payment request email.  Costume deposits are a separate payment and must be paid via e-transfer.

 

AGREEMENT 

I agree to attend all assigned practices and extra practice times and be available and in attendance for the December and June shows and any other shows listed for the group I am enrolled in. This includes travelling to congresses outside of Saskatoon.

 

I understand that if I am absent or late for more than 2 practices, my place in the team will be reevaluated, and I may be asked to leave the team and/or be unable to perform. 

I understand that if accepted onto a competitive team, there is no guarantee I will perform and/or compete. If I are falling behind, miss more than 2 practices in a semster or come to class unprepared, my place in the team will be reevaluated, and I may be asked to leave the team and/or be unable to perform and/or compete.

 

I understand that there will be extra costume fees calculated on top of the costume deposit, to be paid later in the semester. I acknowledge there are mandatory expenses on top of basic fees including extra costume fees, shoes, and/or passes to Salsa Congresses if applicable, and competition fees if applicable. I agree to pay these extra expenses in a timely manner.

 

I understand that if I am accpeted into the competitive program or one of the adult classes, it is mandatory to travel to the Calgary International Congress. In understand that there will be other congresses that are optional.

 

By signing below I am agreeing to the financial commitment, terms, conditions, liability waiver, and agreement as listed above.

 

 

PHOTO AND VIDEO RELEASE

I or my participating minor hereby grant Saskatoon Salsa Dance Company the irrevocable right and permission to use photographs and/or video recordings of me on the Saskatoon Salsa Dance Company websites and social media platforms in publications, promotional flyers, or for any other similar purpose without compensation to me.  

 

I or my participating minor understand and agree that such photographs and/or video recordings of me may be placed on the Internet.  I or my participating minor will not be identified by name unless I consent to be named. I or my participating minor waive the right to approve the final product.  I or my participating minor agree that all such portraits, pictures, photographs, video and audio recordings, and any reproductions thereof, and all plates, negatives, recording tape and digital files are and shall remain the property of Saskatoon Salsa Dance Company.  

 

I or my participating minor hereby release, acquit and forever discharge Saskatoon Salsa Dance Company from any and all claims, demands, rights, promises, damages and liabilities arising out of or in connection with the use or distribution of said photographs and/or video recordings, including but not limited to any claims for invasion of privacy, appropriation of likeness or defamation.

 

I hereby warrant that I am eighteen (18) years old or more and competent to contract in my own name or, if I am less than eighteen years old, that my parent or guardian has signed this release form below.  This release is binding on me and my heirs, assigns and personal representatives.
