I confirm that I have read through the Entry Form conditions with him/her and that they understand and agree with them. I also confirm that he/she takes part in the event with my full agreement that the particulars given above are correct and complete in all respects.
- During the time my dependent is afloat I will be in or around the harbour or pier or available, or I will appoint a person named as Emergency Contact above to act in loco parentis.
- By allowing my child to participate in the event I, the parent/guardian of the child mentioned above agree and acknowledge that I am aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sport and accept responsibility for exposing my child to such inherent risks.
- I have satisfied myself that my child has the necessary skill and knowledge to take part in the event and to deal with conditions that may arise in the course of a race.
- I will not allow my child to participate in the event whilst under the influences of alcohol, drugs or whilst otherwise unfit to participate.
- I am responsible for ensuring that the boat is in good order, equipped and insured.
RYA strongly recommends (June 2026) is third party liability insurance of at least £5 million. https://www.rya.org.uk/
- I am responsible for my child's property whether afloat or ashore.
- I accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by my own actions or omissions or actions or omissions of my child.
The provision of a race management team, patrol boats and other officials and volunteers does not relieve me of my responsibilities or my child of his/her responsibilities.
The provision of patrol/support boat cover is limited to such assistance, particularly in extreme weather conditions, as can be practically provided in the circumstances and they will obey all reasonable directions issued by Race Officials.
My child is bound by any Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions and Racing Rules of Sailing in force at the time of the event.
