2026 SMG Silent Auction

The Seattle Metals Guild is now accepting entries for the 2026 SMG Silent Auction, the Guild’s primary annual fundraising event, presented as part of the Northwest Jewelry & Metals Symposium.

Accepted work will be available for bidding on an online platform from October 3rd through October 10th, 2026. Guild members and interested participants may submit up to three pieces. All work will open at 40% below its retail value. Submitters may choose either to donate 100% of the final selling price to the Guild or to receive 50% of the final selling price.

Selected work will be displayed in an exhibition-style format during the Symposium on October 10th, 2026, at the Broadway Performance Hall during the Symposium. Eligible submissions include wearable, sculptural, and utilitarian pieces. The Guild also welcomes tools and materials, experience packages, and gifts for the auction.

Minimum Requirement: Work must have a retail value of at least $50 (corresponding to a $20 starting bid). Buyers are responsible for shipping costs or for arranging pickup at the Broadway Performance Hall at the conclusion of the Symposium.

What to Include:
- Up to 2 high-resolution photographs per piece
- Title, description, size, materials, and artist name (if not your own work)
- Retail value
- Your preferred payment option (100% donation or 50% share)
- Participants may submit work they do not personally create, such as pieces from personal collections or works represented on behalf of another artist with their permission. In all cases, accurate and factual descriptions must be provided for each piece.
By submitting work, you grant the Seattle Metals Guild permission to photograph your pieces (or to use photographs you provide) and to use those images for the promotion of the event.

Eligibility

All artists are welcome to apply; however, priority is given to current members of the Seattle Metals Guild.

Important Dates

August 16, 2026 — Call for Entries closes at 11:59 PM PST
August 18, 2026 — Notification of acceptance
September 15, 2026 — All work must be received by a guild representative
October 3, 2026 — Silent Auction opens (online)
October 10, 2026 — Silent Auction items will be on display all day at Broadway Performance Hall during the 2026 Northwest Jewelry & Metals Symposium; bidding ends at 3:45 PM PST
October 10, 2026 — In-person pickup for wining bids ends at 5:20 PM PST
November 10, 2026 — Unsold work returned and payments remitted

Submission Guidelines

Artists may submit up to three pieces. The maximum size for display is 36″ × 18″ × 12″. Larger or heavier works will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please submit your pieces in order of priority.

Artists planning to submit very large or heavy pieces (more than 2 pounds per item) should plan to deliver and install them at the Broadway Performance Hall themselves or through other arrangements.

Pricing & Insurance Priority will be given to works with a retail value between $50 and $250, as this price range has historically performed well. We accept individual works with a maximum retail value of $1,000 per piece.

The Guild provides insurance for all accepted work while it is in our possession. The Guild does not provide insurance during transit to the Guild representative; artists are responsible for and encourage to securing additional insurance if desired.

Artists are responsible for any shipping costs to the Guild representative. The Guild will cover return shipping costs and associated insurance for unsold work. Due to high tariffs, the Guild is unable to cover shipping costs for international work; artists submitting from outside the U.S. must cover all shipping expenses to and from the guild.
