About the Event:
The City of Carbondale invites community members of all ages to attend Game Changers: Beyond the Diamond, a family-friendly event celebrating the life of baseball legend John "Buck" O'Neil on Saturday, June 27th from 11:30am to 1:30pm (doors at 11am) at the Oasis Thrillville ThrillHouse. Youth and community members will be introduced to the inspiring story of John "Buck" O'Neil and the Negro Leagues through an interactive educational experience with guided tour of the "Buck: Right on Time" traveling exhibit, a presentation on the Negro Baseball Leagues, and a hands-on art activity. Following the program, attendees will receive a free meal and free game card to continue the fun.
