    Why We're Here

    Ever wished you knew a little more about what's happening under the hood? Whether you're a complete beginner or just want to feel more comfortable talking about cars, this class is designed to give you practical, judgment-free knowledge you can actually use. 

     

    Who We Are 

    This class started with a simple belief: everyone deserves access to the tools and knowledge to feel capable and independent.

    Ivonne Gonzalez, who will lead the class, is an automotive professional with several years of experience working in the industry. She brings firsthand, practical knowledge to help you better understand your vehicle, feel more confident asking questions, and make informed decisions about your car.

    Emily Bradfield works in brand and design and brings the perspective of someone who isn't a mechanic, but who believes you shouldn't need to be an expert to understand the things that affect your everyday life.

    Together, we're creating a space where women and non-binary individuals can learn practical skills, ask questions, think critically, and build confidence through knowledge.

     

    What We'll Cover

    We'll focus on the basics every vehicle owner should know, including:

     

    • Checking your oil level and understanding what your vehicle needs.
    • Checking tire pressure and knowing what the numbers mean.
    • Getting to know your own vehicle. The basic information you should know before something goes wrong.
    • Taking your car to the shop. What to ask, what to expect, and how to feel more confident communicating with a mechanic.
    • Basic car care and maintenance you can handle yourself.
    • And more! We'll leave plenty of time for questions and real-world scenarios.

     

    No automotive experience necessary. This is a judgment-free space to ask questions, learn something new, and leave feeling a little more confident under the hood.
