Future Leaders Collaborative at Various Schools
Help shape the next generation of leaders through Pinellas County Schools’ Girlfriends or Brotherhood of Strength & Purpose mentoring programs. These programs foster leadership, service, and personal growth through the support of mentors, guest speakers, and caring community members like you. Once you have completed the required fingerprinting and are approved as a Pinellas County Schools volunteer, you will be contacted with additional program details and next steps.
Note: Brotherhood of Strength & Purpose replaces the former 5,000 Role Models program.
Girlfriends Inc.
Girlfriends of Pinellas County is a mentorship and empowerment program designed to support young ladies in developing strong academic skills, self-confidence, leadership, and positive behaviors. Through mentorship from educators, community leaders, and role models, participants gain the tools they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Students engage in goal-setting, tutoring, cultural enrichment, and community service projects that build self-awareness and pride. Open to girls at schools with an active Girlfriends program, this initiative fosters self-discipline, social growth, and lifelong success.
The Role of a Girlfriend's Mentor
Mentors can be involved in Girlfriends in a number of ways.
Advisor - leads the club, planning all meetings, events, & activities
Volunteer - assists the advisor as needed
Guest Speaker - shares key experiences with mentees
Field Trip Chaperone - ensures the safety of mentees on trips to college campuses, community events, and more.
NOTE: Mentor Training is required for all Girlfriends and Brotherhood of Strength & Purpose mentors. Pinellas County Schools will provide the required training on August 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. After the training, you can walk across the hall to complete your fingerprinting and pick up your boxed lunch.
