Clone of 2025-26 HTC Grant Application
  • Grant Application for Special Events & Projects

Deadline for Submission: June 26, 2026
  • Agreement for Funding (Please read and sign below)

    Introduction
The Henderson Tourist Commission (HTC) administers funds collected from a three percent (3%) transient tax on occupied transient lodging sales, specifically taxes received from lodging facilities in Henderson County including motels, hotels, cabins, and bed & breakfasts.  In compliance with KRS 91A.350, the funds are for the sole purpose of promoting convention and tourist activity.

The Henderson Tourist Commission has designated a portion of its budget to a grant program designed to aid special events and projects in Henderson County that promote tourism. The primary purpose of this grant is to increase hotel/motel/short term rental overnight visitation and to enhance the visitor experience in Henderson County.

This application is for events scheduled between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027.

    Statement of Policies
    A.   To be considered for funding, a special event or project must first and foremost attract visitors to Henderson County. The increased visitation should directly and consistently increase transient lodging occupancy or enhance the visitor experience.

    B.   Grant funds from the Henderson Tourist Commission are intended to supplement the sponsoring organization’s budget, not replace it.

    C.   Any funds granted are subject to audit at the discretion of the Henderson Tourist Commission.

    D.   Funds granted for the purpose of advertising and promotion are to be used outside a 50-mile radius of Henderson County unless otherwise specified.

    Procedure for Application
    A.   To be eligible for funding, requests are to be made in this application and submitted to the Henderson Tourist Commission on or before June 26, 2026 for events scheduled for July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.

    B.    Applications for funding will first be reviewed by the Henderson Tourist Commission Executive Director who will check for completeness and verify key information as necessary and appropriate. Once the application has been received and reviewed, applicants may be asked to attend a regularly scheduled Commission meeting and provide a presentation. The Executive Director will notify the applicant if attendance at a meeting is required.

    1.   The scheduled date(s) and time(s) of the event
