  • Auditions will consist of an individual vocal audition and a group movement audition.

    Vocal Audition Requirements: Please prepare to sing your best 16-32 bars (approximately 60 seconds) of a published Musical Theatre song of your choice. Please bring sheet music and have your start and stop indicated on your music. Accompanist provided, no soundtracks/a cappella. Please DO NOT sing from the show. 


    Movement Audition Requirements: Review the dance video to prepare for the dance call on your selected audition night. (Video available on July 15th)

  • Type of Audition (IN-PERSON AUDITIONS ARE PREFERRED). If you do submit a video audition, you will need to be available for Callbacks in person to be considered for a lead role.*
  • Audition Date (IN-PERSON AUDITIONS ARE PREFERRED). You only need to audition on one day. Select the evening you will be attending.*
  • Call Back Date. If you receive a call back for a role(s), will you be available on Sunday, August 2 - 5:00 PM?*

    MUSIC

    Kids/Teens/Adults: Sing your best 16-32 bars (approximately 1 min) of a published Musical Theatre song.  Accompanist provided. Please bring sheet music and have your start and stop indicated on your music.  No soundtracks.  A capella not preferred.  Please DO NOT sing from the show. 

    CALLBACKS: Those required for callbacks will be notified following the final date of auditions via email. Callbacks will include acting sides and additional vocal auditions. Not all roles will require a callback.

    CASTING: All final casting decisions will be made after callbacks, at which time all auditionees will be notified via email.

    If you need to cancel please email stagemanager@gifca.org. Do not “No call, No show” to your audition! That takes away another person’s opportunity and is disrespectful to all concerned.

     

    IMPORTANT DATES

    • First Cast Meeting: August 21, 2026, at 7 PM
    • First Rehearsal: August 24, 2026, at 7 PM

    Rehearsal will be August 24 - October 15th and generally run Monday-Friday from 6-10pm (most nights start at 7pm) and some Saturday mornings, depending on the cast's availability and if scenes/choreography need additional time.

    MANDATORY ATTENDANCE FOR ALL
    Cast MUST be available for all final rehearsals and performances:

    • Sequence/Tech Week runs Monday, October 5 through to opening night. You MUST be available for these dates.
    • Performances are three weekends including: October 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31
    • Kids Excerpts: Friday, October 23rd
    • Set Strike: Sunday, November 1st


    If cast in the show, you will be provided with a detailed schedule of when you are needed, as not everyone will be required to attend each and every scheduled rehearsal. If you have any known conflicts or anticipate you may have a conflict, please indicate dates affected on your audition form.

    Family Music Theatre is entirely run by volunteers. It is greatly appreciated when cast members volunteer to assist with the production where possible, including parents of youth cast members. Please consider helping and getting to know your team during work day.

    ALL DATES MUST BE CLEAR OF CONFLICTS FOR SEQUENCE WEEK, TECH WEEK, ALL PERFORMANCES, AND SET STRIKE.

    Understanding that our first Cast Meeting is Friday, August 21, 2026 and our first Rehearsal is Monday, August 24, 2026, please indicate below any and all schedule conflicts for the period of  August 21 - October 3.

    Please include any work and/or school schedule conflicts that occur on weeknights and/or weekends. We create our rehearsal calendar based on the conflicts noted below, so we need to know when you are available and not available. CONFLICTS NOT ON THE AUDITION FORM WILL NOT BE ACCOMMODATED.

    Let it be known that any outside performance experiences coinciding with our production schedule are STRONGLY DISCOURAGED and could jeopardize your role in this production. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary that you clearly indicate any conflicts here and now so that the directors may be able to duly consider whether these may be accommodated.

  • Performances are Fridays at 7:30 (call is 6:00pm), Saturdays at 1:30 (call is 12:00pm) and Saturdays at 7:30 (call is 6:00pm). All performances MUST be free of conflicts in order to be cast.
