Description of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Assessment

The Emotional Intelligence (EQ) Assessment is designed to evaluate how effectively you manage your emotions, understand others, and build positive relationships in the workplace. It measures your ability to demonstrate self-awareness, emotional control, empathy, and interpersonal effectiveness in a variety of situations.

The assessment helps identify strengths in emotional awareness, self-management, empathy, relationship building, and leadership readiness while highlighting opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Based on your responses, the assessment places you into a performance category ranging from Reactive / Low Awareness to Highly Emotionally Intelligent. Each result provides personalized insights, development opportunities, and practical recommendations to help strengthen emotional intelligence, improve workplace relationships, and enhance your overall effectiveness.

    • Result: Reactive / Low Awareness

Your results suggest that emotional awareness and self-management may currently be limiting your effectiveness. You may find it challenging to consistently recognize emotions, manage reactions, or understand how your behavior impacts others.

At this stage, the focus should be on building self-awareness, improving emotional control, and developing stronger relationship skills. Small improvements in emotional intelligence can significantly enhance communication, trust, and workplace effectiveness.

      Focus Moving Forward:

      • Increase awareness of emotions and reactions
      • Practice pausing before responding in difficult situations
      • Strengthen empathy and understanding of others
      • Build habits that support trust and positive relationships
    • Result: Developing EQ

Your results indicate that you demonstrate emotional awareness and interpersonal effectiveness in some situations, but consistency may be limiting your overall impact. While you are capable of managing emotions and understanding others, these skills may not always be applied consistently during challenging or high-pressure situations.

At this stage, the focus should be on strengthening self-awareness, improving emotional control, and developing greater consistency in empathy and relationship management. Continued practice will help build stronger workplace relationships and improve overall effectiveness.

      Focus Moving Forward:

      • Increase self-awareness and emotional control
      • Practice pausing before responding in difficult situations
      • Strengthen empathy and perspective-taking skills
      • Build more consistent relationship management habits
    • Result: Emotionally Effective

Your results show that you generally demonstrate strong emotional awareness, self-control, and interpersonal effectiveness. You are able to manage emotions appropriately, understand others' perspectives, and build positive relationships that support collaboration and trust.

You have developed solid emotional intelligence skills and are capable of handling most workplace situations effectively. Continued growth should focus on strengthening emotional influence, navigating complex situations, and expanding your positive impact on others.

      Focus Moving Forward:

      • Strengthen emotional influence and leadership presence
      • Improve effectiveness in difficult or high-pressure situations
      • Deepen empathy and understanding in complex interactions
      • Use emotional intelligence to positively influence others
    • Result: Highly Emotionally Intelligent

Your results indicate exceptional emotional intelligence. You consistently demonstrate strong self-awareness, emotional control, empathy, and relationship management skills. You are able to navigate challenging situations effectively while building trust, understanding, and positive connections with others.

At this level, your focus should shift from managing your own emotions to positively influencing and developing others. You are well-positioned to serve as a role model, mentor, and leader who helps create a positive and emotionally intelligent workplace culture.

      Focus Moving Forward:

      • Lead by example through emotional intelligence and self-awareness
      • Mentor and support others in developing EQ skills
      • Strengthen leadership influence and relationship building
      • Create positive impact across teams and the organization
