FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As with any studio and beginning of the dance season, there are plenty of questions you may want to ask. Use this reference as a quick guide to hopefully answer some of those questions. If you think of any other questions/comments/concerns please feel free to let us know.
When will the recital be?
The recital will be towards the end of the school year. At this time, we have not determined where and when the recital will be, but we will be working with you in the near future to determine the most appropriate and convenient location. The recital is a mandatory event for all dancers. Please keep the first few weekends in June open, as we are telling you this at the very beginning of the season.
This is my child's first year. What can I expect at the recital?
The recital is a culmination of all of your child’s hard work throughout the year. They will showcase the various techniques and dances they have learned. Parents, friends, and family are all welcome to attend the end-of-the-year recital. Every attendee will be required to purchase a ticket.
What will my child wear at the recital?
Before the recital, the instructor of your child's class will decide on the costumes to be worn for the recital. As the time gets closer, we will update you on how and when the ordering will take place, as well as the cost of the costume. Parents will be expected to pay for the costumes, but after the recital, they are yours to keep.

I want to have a lasting memory of my child's year of dance. What does the studio do?
Every year we will hold annual portraits. These will be individual pictures as well as group pictures of the students. These will be done by a professional photographer and will vary in price depending on what the parents order. You are NOT required to buy these pictures, but we would ask that you have your child at the studio to get the group portrait done. We will also be posting photos to our website and Facebook page, throughout the year so please check them regularly for updates.
What if I am late making payments to the studio?

If payments are made after the first week or the first class of the month, you may be charged a $20 late fee. In addition to the late fee, any returned checks will be charged a $35 returned check fee.
What should my child wear to class?

Ballet/Lyrical- Leotard of any color and design, pink or skin color tights are MANDATORY; additionally, ballet skirts are permitted and optional.

Jazz & Tap- Leotard and pink or skin color tights are MANDATORY; additionally, leggings or dance shorts over their leotard and tights are permitted and optional.

*Tap- Capezio Mary Jane Black Matte Tap Shoe

Hip-Hip- T-shirt with leggings, sweatpants, or dance shorts are permitted.
Footwear-
*Non-street shoe tennis shoes
(specific ones may be requested later in the season)

Acro- Leotard of any color and design, pink or skin color, footless tights are MANDATORY; Additionally, leggings or dance shorts over their leotard and tights are permitted and optional.
*Barefoot

*All hair MUST be pulled back and away from the face.
*NO jewelry or gum is permitted at any time
*Please ensure pants do not go past the ankle
*Students must also bring the correct footwear for their class
What if class is canceled for some reason (e.g., snow or other severe weather)?

The studio will follow the Currituck County Public Schools' delays, holidays, and closings schedule as closely as possible. If a class must be canceled, the instructors will do their best to inform everyone via email, Instagram, and Facebook.
When is tuition due?

Tuition is due the first full week of class, or the first class of the month. At this time, we take cash, checks, ACH banking, and in-person payments.
Additionally, there is a 3% credit card fee if that is how you choose to make payments.

LIABILITY RELEASE FORM
I,

am aware that participation in dancing is potentially dangerous and involves risk of injury. I understand that these risks include, but are not limited to injury to ligaments, muscles, tendons, bones, and other aspects of the body that may include head, neck, or spine. Due to the dangers of this activity, I understand the importance of my child's following the teacher's instructions regarding techniques, training, and other rules and agree that my child will obey these instructions. In consideration for allowing my child to participate Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC's activities, I hereby assume all the risks associated with the sport of dance, and I agree to release Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC and its employees or agents from any and all liability/responsibility which may arise in connection with my child's participation in activities at Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC.

Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19
The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people.
Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC could increase your risk and your child (ren)'s risk of contracting COVID-19.
By signing this agreement, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC employees, volunteers, and program participants and their families.
I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to my child(ren) or myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I or my child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with my child(ren)'s attendance at Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC or participation in programming ("Claims"). On my behalf, and on behalf of my children, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Three Little Birds Dance Studio LLC, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto.
