  • **IMPORTANT NOTE** After you submit this form, we'll need more information to move forward. This extra info helps us prepare your application and start creating your personal budget for your telephone interview. A key focus of the NILS program is ensuring you have the capacity to repay your NILS loan without any added financial stress. That's why it's important for your application to show you are managing your current expenses, like rent or board, electricity (if it's your responsibility), and any other loan or debt repayments you may have. This will help the Loan Assessors to approve your loan.
  • 1. Detailed Income and Assets Statement from Centrelink, with deductions listed (not more than 2 weeks old)

    2. If employed, your last 3 pay slips.  

    3. Rental agreement and statement of rental payments or mortgage statement for three months. If neither available:
    - You will be required to sign a Statutory Declaration, Or
    - if housing owned; supply council and water rates notices

    4. Two forms of identification:
    - Driver’s Licence
    - Photo ID card
    - Pension Card
    - Health Care Card

    5. Most recent bank transactions (for at least the last three consecutive months / 90 days, not more than 2 weeks old).

    6. Details of your usual household expenses including most recent electricity, gas & telephone bills and any other usual bills

    7. Details of outstanding store accounts / loans (with statements or screenshots of apps)

    8. If the loan is for car related costs, bring details of motor vehicle expenses e.g. Greenslip quote, car repair quotes and Registration Papers. (note: car must be in applicant's name)

    9. A Quote/s for your purchase. Quote needs to for a new item and with all the details of how the payment can be made. i.e. by credit card over the phone or with the bank account details.

  • Please provide evidence of income. - Centrelink Income & Deduction Statements can be accessed via the Centrelink App.

    If you have any deductions, you will need to request both documents and send us all pages.

    If you are providing payslips they need to be the three most recent pay periods.

  • If you are:

    Renting - you will need to request a rent ledger from your real estate or housing provider for the last 90 days. You can ask your provider to email this to you. Pease do not upload your lease we can only accept a current rental ledger.

    Boarding with family and friends - you can submit a stat dec.  These will need to be less than 14 days old when you send them to us and completed correctly including being witnessed by a Justice of the Peace.

    Documents need to show you are up to date with your rent.

    Mortgage - you will need to provide a current Mortgage statement.

  • We need the most recent copy of your bill for all accounts you hold.

    For electricity and gas this means less than three months old, for phone and internet this means within the last month if you are on a plan.

    You will need to send all pages of the bills. If you are paying your bill via direct debit or Centrepay we still need a copy of the most recent bill.

  • If you have any loans or debts you will need to either contact your provider or login to your online account to access a recent statement or payment plan.

    For products like Afterpay that don't have a statement a screenshot of what you owe is fine.

    If a statement is available this is what will need to be provided.

    If you have missed any payments, please provide additional information that can be included in your application.

    Even if payments are being made as a direct debit or Centrepay you still need to provide a statement from the provider

  • Do you use internet banking? Southern NILS provides a fast and easy way to provide us the 90 day bank transactions using Illion's an Australian Company with participating Banks able to be accessed through this free and secure service.

    To send us your bank transactions go to: Illion Bank Statements online service https://scv.bankstatements.com.au/NILS-OCPS

    Simply put your full name in, enter your online banking details, select ALL your accounts and press submit. Your statements will be sent directly to us.

    If you are uploading your banks transactions, please note the bank information must show your name, current address and account balances and transactions and should be a PDF file. No screenshots will be accepted for bank statements.

    Vehicle Registration: Only if applying for vehicle registration: Copy of registration notice from NSW Dept of Transport. Pinkslip/Blueslip and CTP quote required where applicable.

  • NILS is based on trust and the circular community credit model. Every repayment made by current clients is used to lend to others in the community.

    Before you submit your application, please take some time to read the information provided below:

    CLIENT RIGHTS

    Be treated fairly and with respect regardless of your personal circumstances and beliefs.

    Be told if you can apply for a loan and how to do so.

    Know and agree to what happens to the information we keep about you and your financial situation.

    Give feedback or make a complaint without it affecting whether or not you get help from us.

    If available, access an interpreter, advocate, or other support person to assist with the NILS application. 2

    Receive a loan without fees, charges or interest if your application is approved.

    Be informed about the loan decision making process. Be referred to financial counselling if you need to.

    Put NILS repayments on hold or change the amount you repay if you get into difficulties repaying the loan. Restart loan repayments if you stop.

    Be able to apply additional lending once you've met the 90 days (3 months) no missed repayment criteria (up to a total of the higher limit of the combined loan purposes if you can afford it).

    Be able to apply for another NILS loan (up to a total of the higher limit of the loan purpose if you can afford it) if you are eligible once you’ve successfully repaid your current loan.

    CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

    Act in a manner that respects the rights of other clients, staff and volunteers of the organisation. Give clear information to assess the loan.

    Make sure the information you give us is accurate.

    Let us know if you’re happy or unhappy with our service without being rude or aggressive.

    Tell us if you would like someone with you during the loan interview or to help with the loan application.

    Make regular payments and pay the loan back so that someone else in the community can get a loan like you did.

    Ensure all information provided is true and correct, and that no false or misleading information is given at any time.

    Tell us if you have any financial difficulties now.

    Tell us if you have any financial difficulties in the future.

    Restart payments as soon as possible.

    Make regular payments when you restart, tell us if you have any financial difficulties in the future.

    Meet the repayment amounts for the first loan and for any additional borrowings.

    Be able to meet the repayments for the new loan.

    Please remember, your additional info is 'necessary', and we 'can't' start to create your application without it. :)
