  • SUBCOMMITTEES

The festival planning committee is broken down into six main sub-committees, each headed by a committee chair who has been involved with planning the festival for at least one year. You don’t need to be a pro at anything! Past experience is considered in committee selection and placement, but we want to help you grow and learn in areas you are interested in contributing to.

    Development Team:

The Development Team is responsible for helping secure the financial, in-kind, and strategic support that makes Sunny Dayz possible. This includes cultivating relationships with donors and sponsors, developing brand partnerships, securing in-kind support, supporting grant research and applications, and finding opportunities to increase Sunny Dayz’s visibility and reach. The team also helps steward sponsor and donor relationships by making sure partners feel connected to the festival and receive the recognition and benefits promised to them. Development works closely with the Executive Director and Board to align fundraising efforts with Sunny Dayz’s overall goals, leverage existing relationships, and identify new opportunities for growth and support.

If you’re ready to charm the socks off donors, turn glittery high-fives into sponsorships, and have goldfish throwing cash at you, then the Development Team is calling your name! If you’re a natural networker, enjoy connecting people to things they care about, and get excited about making big ideas financially possible, this is the team for you.

    Creative Team

The Creative Team is responsible for shaping and maintaining the Sunny Dayz brand through visual design, photography, videography, and creative storytelling. This includes everything from festival banners, flyers, social media and event graphics, and merchandise to photographing and filming the programs, artists, and festival moments that tell the Sunny Dayz story.

Creative works closely with Marketing to develop the visual assets and content that support campaigns, events, fundraising, and festival promotion. If you see a blank canvas and immediately start imagining what it could become, believe fonts have feelings, or can turn a festival moment into a cinematic masterpiece, Creative Team wants your magic!

    Marketing Team:

The Marketing Team is Sunny Dayz's hype squad! This team develops the strategies and campaigns that get people talking about, participating in, and supporting Sunny Dayz. Responsibilities include public relations, media outreach, copywriting, email campaigns, social media, website updates, event promotion, and finding creative ways to reach our audiences both online and IRL.

Marketing works closely with Creative to make sure Sunny Dayz's story is cohesive, recognizable, and impossible to ignore. If you're part strategist, part hype machine, and part internet sleuth – and you get a little thrill when creativity and analytics high-five each other – Marketing wants YOU!

    Production Team:

The Production Team is responsible for the logistics that make Sunny Dayz run smoothly – from permitting, site logistics, vendors, volunteers, stages, and festival equipment, to mural production, artist needs, Sunny Week hospitality, and HQ. This team is all about making sure the right people, things, and resources are in the right place at the right time, and solving the inevitable “well, now what?” moments along the way.

Production also works closely with the Programs Team to bring events and programming to life. While Programs plans the vision and content, Production helps with setup, staffing, merchandise and information tables, onsite logistics, and event execution. During Sunny Week, Production helps make sure panels, workshops, dinners, fundraisers, merch launches, and other events run smoothly.

Do you secretly dream of coordinating a symphony… of logistical perfection? Are you the friend who always knows where the spare batteries, first-aid kit, and extra snacks are? If you thrive on organizing the un-organizable, dream of logistics that flow like a Beyoncé concert, and think site maps should come with fan clubs, then Production Team is calling your name!

    Programs Team:

The Programs Team is responsible for fostering community throughout the year and creating opportunities for people to connect, learn, celebrate, and support Sunny Dayz. This includes alumni engagement, panels and workshops, fundraising events, merchandise launches, community gatherings, and the many social events that bring artists, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters together.

Programs leads the vision, content, and planning for these experiences while working closely with Production to bring them to life. During Sunny Week, this includes events like the Kickoff Party, Sponsor & Artist Appreciation Night, Team & Artist Dinner, After Party, panels, workshops, and other special gatherings. Programs dreams it up; Production helps make sure it actually happens.

Do you love throwing epic parties? Do you secretly dream of becoming a mastermind behind the most talked-about social events in town? Can you turn a random Tuesday into a “Must-Attend Event of the Year” with just a few emails and a lot of charm?! If you believe every gathering could use a little more fun, a little more community, and maybe a themed cocktail napkin, then Programs Team is your playground!

    Mentorship Team:

The Mentorship Team is responsible for maintaining and developing Sunny Dayz’s existing youth mentorship program while creating new opportunities for mentorship and connection across the Sunny Dayz community. This includes supporting mentor and mentee relationships, planning the Mentorship Brunch during Sunny Week, maintaining relationships with mentorship alumni, and developing opportunities to support adults, new artists, and others who are newer to the Sunny Dayz community. The team will also help develop year-round mentorship curriculum and programming that provides meaningful opportunities for learning, connection, and professional growth beyond the festival itself.

If you love the idea of helping others become the superheroes of their own stories, are an educator or retired camp counselor at heart, or can spot potential in people the way some folks spot four-leaf clovers, Mentorship Team wants you! If you believe in helping people find their strengths, make meaningful connections, and feel supported along the way – whether they’re young, grown, experienced, or brand new to the Sunny Dayz community – this team needs your enthusiasm.
