Sessions are best done within the first two weeks of baby being born. Fill in the approximate due date and I can pencil in from there. I encourage you to get in contact as soon as you are able to after baby is born.

The photos I take are for you, and about you so I want them to be what you want. Have a think about what you like and don't like, and choose from the options below.
If you have no idea what you want, I'm happy to take the lead, just let me know in the options.

Session Fee: The session booking deposit of $50.00 is due upon booking and is non-refundable. This deposit secures your session booking and the current pricing structure.
You will recieve an invoice for the fee which is payable by bank deposit or Credit Card (the invoice is sent manually once the booking form is received). The remaining balance can be paid by cash, bank deposit or credit card. Payment plans are also an option by request. 

Session Policies

Cancellation & Rescheduling:
Notice of illness or cancellation must be given at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session. The Photographer reserves the right to reschedule at any time due to necessity and will offer a mutually agreeable alternative date.

Payment Terms:
Galleries and final images will not be delivered or released until full payment has been received. Customised payment plans can be arranged.

Raw Files:
Under no circumstances will unedited or RAW files be delivered. All images are delivered exclusively in the Photographer’s edited signature style.

Electronic Devices:
Behind-the-scenes photography from a distance is permitted and encouraged to share the excitement with loved ones. However, close-up photos or videos of the baby within active photography setups are strictly prohibited.

Extended Family:
First Days requests the number of people present in the room of the session be limited to those participating in the session or those involved directly with the care of siblings. Due to the nature of First Days Photography style, multiple pieces of equipment are involved and the client must ensure these are respected by all family members

Health Policy:
To maintain a safe environment, if the Client or any participating family members show symptoms of a contagious illness, the session must be rescheduled immediately. The Photographer will adhere to the same safety standards and contact you to reschedule if unwell.

1. Copyright, Ownership, and Model Release

- Copyright & Ownership: First Days Nz ("Photographer") retains full copyright and ownership of all images, captures, digital files, and previews. All materials remain the exclusive property of the Photographer.

- Permitted & Prohibited Use: Delivered images are for the Client’s personal, non-commercial use only. Use for profit, commercial endeavours, professional display, or entry into competitions is strictly prohibited. Copying, screenshotting, saving, or scanning unpurchased images from galleries, the Photographer’s website, or social media sites constitutes copyright infringement. Unauthorised duplication or use will be invoiced at the Photographer’s current per-image retail rate.

- Social Sharing: Sharing purchased, finalized images or official links directly from the main source on social media is highly accepted and encouraged for family and friends to view.

- Model Release: Provided the Client has granted permission, the Photographer reserves the right to use session images for advertising, display, publication, social media, and portfolio promotions. The signing Client warrants they have the actual legal authority to agree to the use of the likeness of all persons included in the portraits, including minors.

2. Liability, Performance, and Quality

- Third-Party Printing: The Photographer is not liable for the print quality, colour accuracy, or cropping of images printed through external, third-party photo labs chosen by the Client.

- Force Majeure & Technical Failure: If the Photographer cannot fulfil this contract due to fire, casualty, illness, emergency, all deposits and fees paid will be returned to the Client, and the Photographer shall have no further liability. This limitation also applies to technical failure or photographic materials damaged without photographer fault.

- Safety & Injury Release: The Photographer is not responsible for injuries sustained by any participating parties during the session. Clients assume full responsibility for themselves, their children, and family members, releasing the Photographer from any claims against their person or business.

- Artistic Control & Expectations: While the Photographer strives for quality, variations in image or composition may occur due to factors beyond their control, such as unsettled infants/family members or poor natural lighting. The Client acknowledges they selected the Photographer based on their current portfolio. Re-shoots or refunds will not be issued for dissatisfaction based on these uncontrollable variables. In the case of dissatisfaction, please contact First Days Nz directly to discuss options so we can work to rectify the situation.

Appointment Policies

Photos and Videos:
Please feel free to take any photos and videos you like, I encourage it. This is a memory to be caputred, shared and excited about. I'd love if you share them, if you could tag me in them - I tend not to take photos so I love seeing what you have captured behind the scenes. 

Cancellation:
In the event of an illness or misadventure, please get in contact as soon as possible. First Days Nz maintains the right to reschedule at any time should it become necessary but will do our upmost to negotiate a mutual acceptable rebooking. The request must be made no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled booking. Deposits are non refundable.

Payment:
First Days Nz will not deliver any life casts until the full payment for the casting is made. 

Liability:
If First Days Photography Nz ["the caster"] cannot fulfil this contract due to fire or other causality, or beyond the control of the caster, or due to the casters illness or emergency, then the caster shall;

Attempt to re schedule the appointment OR return any deposit to the client. The client releases any and all employees of First Days Photography + Life Casting from damages that may result from any accidents or incidents that could have been prevented that may happen during the session.

First Days Nz is not responsible for any injuries inflicted upon any participating parties. Client(s) will be responsible for their children and for themselves and release the caster from any claims against their person or their business.

Finished Product:
While First Days Nz does their best to achieve the best results possible, the client understands that factors beyond the casters control may lead to varying quality of casting.

Factors include but are not limited to; an unsettled baby and/or other family members. The caster takes no responsibility for dissatisfaction and the client understands the caster was their chosen life caster based on the current portfolio available for client to view. Rescheduling will not occur unless decided by the caster in which case an agreement between client and the caster shall be drawn regarding date and inclusions.
In some cases the castor may be dissatisfied by the final product due to a fault of the caster and in which case would make immediate contact with the client to make a further appointment at no cost to the client. In this case the caster would travel to a suitable place for the client so as not to inconvenience them in any way.

Electronic Devices - Photos during the session
Photos and short snippets from afar of what is happening to share with family and friends are absolutely fine - I encourage these. Sharing this exciting occasion with family and friends who cannot be there is an important part of your journey. In fact if you take any, feel free to send them to me. First Days Nz [First Days] has the right to ask you to remove any creative content but will adress this with you first.

Final products will not be delivered or released until full payment has been received. Customised payment plans can be arranged.

Raw images and captures
First Days does not and will not deliver images, files or prints of you [the client] that have not been edited to the highest standard and to the style of First Day's portfolio. 

Consent to sharing content
First Days takes privacy and confidentiality very seriously and will not share any identifying content the client does not consent to. First Days will share content that has NO identifying factors (such as tattoos, faces or specific features), freely. For images outside this content, the client needs to give permission to sharing by signing this form. All details need to be checked, and the client needs to confirm they are correct before signing.
