    • Please complete each section fully.
    • Application must be signed by both sponsor and candidate and recieved no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 17, 2026
    • All applicants will be notified in writing no later than July 24, 2026 regarding their acceptance. Class size is limited.
    • A non-refundable application fee of $25 is due when submitting application (cash or check only)

    Selection Criteria

    • Application is open to all persons residing or working in Madison County. Applicants must have the full support of the organization or corporation they represent. Individuals may also apply.
    • Class members are chosen by the Leadership Madison County Selection Committee on their own merits based upton the information submitted on the application. The Committee seeks representation from a cross section of the community including business, labor, education, the arts, religon, government, community-based organizations, ethnic and minority groups.
    • To meet graduation requirements, it is necessary that participants attend at least 8 full sessions of the 9 sessions of the program. The opening retreat is overnight and MANDATORY. A serious time commitment is involved, therefore if you feel you cannot make this commitment, please defer your application until next year.
    • Leadership Madison County is an entrywayinto leadership in the community. It is an expectation of the Board of Directors that graduates of the program become and active member in helping change and serve their community.
    • In reviewing applications, the Selection Committee looks for candidates who demonstrate the following criteria:
      • Commitment and motivation to serve the Madison County area.
      • Position of leadership in employment and/or colunteer organizations resulting in the potential to have significant influence on important issues facing the community.
      • Ability to make the time commitment required by the program.

     

  • Getting to Know the Class

         Opening Reception - Thursday, August 20th, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

         Opening Retreat - Thursday, August 27th and Friday, August 28th. The retreat is overnight and mandatory.

  • Sessions

         Each session is a full day, typically beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending by 5:00 p.m.

         Sessions will take place the second Tuesday of each month from September - May with Graduation TBD in May.

  • Commitment

    To graduate from Leadership Madison County, a participant is expected to attend at least 8 full sessions of the 9 sessions. Absenteeism will result in your being dropped from the program.

    • Orientation Retreat attendance is mandatory
    • One full day per month for nine months. Sessions run aproximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    • The Leadership Madison County Board of Directors has an expectation that all participants will engage in a one-year active leadership involvement somewhere in the community (Board of Directors, volunteer position, etc.) Can be done concurrently with the class.

    Tuition

    Tuition for Leadership Madison County is $800, which includes food, instructional materials, retreat lodging and transportation when necessary. You will be billed upon acceptance into the program. Full tuition is due by September 25th and late fees will be applied. Tuition will not be refunded to payeed if the participant drops out or is dropped from the program due to absenteeism. Leadership Madison County is a 501c3 non-profit organization so donations may be tax deductible.

  • Waiver & Acceptance

    I understand the goals and commitments of the Leadership Madison County program. If selected, I will devote the required time and dedication to the program.

    By signing this application, I hereby authorize Leadership Madison County, Inc. (LMC) to use, reproduce, and/or publishphotographs and/or video that may pertain to me - including my image, likeness and/or voice without compensation. I understand this material may be used in various publications, public affairs releases, recruitment materials, broadcast public advertising (PSAs) or for other related endeavours. This material may also appear on LMC's website. This authorization is continous and may only be withdrawn by my specific recession of this authorization. Consequently, LMC may publish materials, use my name, photograph, and/or make a reference to me in andy matther that LMC deems appropriate in order to promote/publicize service opportnuities.
