    Our teen volunteer program is open to Manhasset residents in grades 8-12 as of September 2026 who are looking to help and make a difference in the community. Once a volunteer application is on record, teens will be eligible to begin volunteering.

    The Manhasset Public Library cannot guarantee the availability of hours to fulfill community service requirements. We will do our best to accommodate all volunteers along with their schedules and needs.

    The Manhasset Public Library has my permission to use photographs of me or my child (a minor under 18 years of age) taken during library activities for use on their website or other promotional material. These pictures may be posted on social media platforms as well as used for marketing and promotions within the library.

  • TEEN VOLUNTEER NO-SHOW POLICY

    For July 2026-June 2027

  • If you are unable to attend an in-person volunteer program that you have signed up for, please let us know as soon as possible by calling or emailing the library. Providing advance notice allows library staff to plan accordingly and gives other volunteers the opportunity to participate.

    If you sign up for an in-person volunteer event but do not attend and do not notify the library beforehand, it will be recorded as a no-show.

    If a volunteer receives three (3) no-shows, they will not be able to register for in-person volunteer opportunities at the library for 30 days. After the 30-day pause, they may sign up for volunteer events again.

    We understand that unexpected situations can arise, and we encourage volunteers to communicate with library staff whenever possible. We appreciate your cooperation and your commitment to supporting the library and our community.
