  • Award Information

The UCM Family & Supporters of the Year Award celebrates the important role families and supporters play in the lives of our students. Families and supporters provide encouragement, care, and connection that help students succeed both at UCM and beyond.

Family and supporters can mean many different things, including parents, guardians, siblings, grandparents, extended relatives, foster families, best friends, significant others, mentors, and more. Whole families, parents, or any individual supporter may be nominated. A family unit does not have to be traditional to be celebrated.

    Nominations

UCM encourages students to nominate their family, family member(s), or supporter(s) who has made a meaningful impact on their life and student experience.

Students may submit either a written essay or a video nomination. Written nominations should be approximately 500 words or less. Video nominations should be between 3-5 minutes.

Nominations will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

    • Commitment to the student’s success
    • Support and positive impact in the student’s life
    • Strength of the nomination, including specific examples, stories, or details

Submissions are due August 28 at 11:59 PM.

Family Weekend will take place September 11-13. The Family & Supporters of the Year presentation will occur on Saturday, September 12 during the Mules Football Game. The selected recipient must be present during the recognition. If the selected recipient is unable to attend, the next runner-up will be selected.
