  • 2026-2027 CSTA Advisory Group Application

    Due: August 31, 2026
  • CSTA is proud to be an organization that thrives on volunteer support. We are offering three new volunteer opportunities for the 2026-2027 school year. Please review these opportunities below:

    • CSTA Affinity Group Committee: Are you interested in fostering equity and building a deep sense of belonging within the computer science education community? This committee will provide strategic oversight, standardized resources, and operational support to celebrate and sustain CSTA’s identity-based affinity groups. By joining, you will help amplify voices, foster intersectional collaboration, and provide additional peer support to fellow educators. Committee members participate in one virtual meeting a month and approximately 2 hours of additional work outside of those meetings, for a total of 2-5 hours per month. At this time, this is a one-year pilot.

    • CSTA Internal Content Advisory Group: This group serves as a strategic thought partner to CSTA’s Learning & Community team, offering guidance, feedback, and insights to ensure professional development (PD) offerings are effective, relevant, and aligned with CSTA’s mission to empower, engage, and advocate for K–12 computer science teachers. Advisory group members can expect to participate in one virtual meeting a month and approximately 2 hours of additional work outside of those meetings, for a total of 2-5 hours per month. At this time, this opportunity will run for one term.

    • CSTA Teaching & Learning Advisory Group: Two of our most impactful working groups — the Teacher Standards Coaching & Admin Working Group and the Reflective Teachers Working Group — are coming together to form the new Teaching and Learning Advisory Group. This pilot advisory will lay the groundwork for a future full committee dedicated to bridging the needs of teacher leaders and the classroom teachers they support.

As an advisory member, you'll collaborate with a community of CS educators to develop practical resources that serve two connected audiences: teacher leaders — administrators, coaches, and team leads who guide professional growth — and PreK–12 classroom teachers who are actively reflecting on and refining their own professional learning. This is a one-year pilot, and your voice will help define the structure, priorities, and impact of a permanent committee built by teachers, for teachers.
