Audition Information for THE ADDAMS FAMILY

Please fill out the audition form below. Complete the form by scheduling your audition slot.

Beginning with the 2025-2026 season, ALL auditions will move to 30-minute time slots of ten people or less.

Performers are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their time slot.

Auditions are closed, which means only those auditioning may be in the house. Anyone - including all parents, grandparents, siblings, and/or legal guardians - who is not signed up for the audition in that particular time slot is to remain in the lobby until the audition process is finished.

Auditions are appointment only; you must schedule your appointment below to finalize this audition form and secure your spot. 

Show Dates: October 16-25, 2026 (with the option of a third weekend, depending on ticket demand)

Mandatory Dates: Oct. 10(Q2Q), Oct. 11-15 (Tech Week), Oct. 16-25 (Show Dates/Pick Up/Strike). Availability throughout the rehearsal process may affect casting.

Location: 238 S. Clay Street, Gastonia NC, 28052. Parking is adjacent to the building.

Show Rating: PG for violence, adult content/language

This show requires an ensemble cast of 10+ performers of all race, sex, gender, sexuality, nationality, and experience level. The casting team is looking for a diverse group of performers across the board. 

CONFLICTS for rehearsals of THE ADDAMS FAMILY

Please note that current rehearsal dates are tentative and may change. Not all performers may be called for every single rehearsal and that will be noted in the finalized calendar given out at the first rehearsal. 

Please note that amount of conflicts and/or certain conflict dates may affect casting.

 

Tentative Rehearsal Dates: Mondays - Fridays, August 17-October 15, 2026  from 7-10pm.

AVAILABLE ROLES 

GOMEZ: Male presenting. A family man, madly in love with his wife and would gladly die AND kill for his children. Spanish accent preferred. Must have excellent comedic timing. Has intimate scenes with Morticia, including dancing a tango and kissing her arm suggestively. Will be cast 18+.

Age range: reads 30+

Vocal Range: B3-C2 (baritone/bass)

Dance Ability: Standard - Experienced dance ability. Dances a tango and leads multiple line dances.

MORTICIA: Female presenting. Femme fatale who loves her family, longs for death, and detests lies. Has a dry voice and sharp comedic timing. Tap dancing preferred. Has intimate scenes with Gomez, including dancing a tango and being kissed intimately suggestively. Will be cast 18+.

Age range: reads 30+

Vocal Range: A#5-G3 (mezzo/alto); belt

Dance Ability: Standard - Experienced dance ability. Dances a tango and a tap number.

WEDNESDAY:Female presenting. Young adult who is struggling with her identity and feelings of falling in love vs the loyalty to her family. Has a dry voice and dark, almost threatening demeanor. Has intimate scenes with Lucas, who she shares a kiss with.

Age range: reads 16-18

Vocal Range: E5-A3 (mezzo/alto); belt

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability.

FESTER: Male presenting. The super odd uncle who steps in and out of the role of narrator seamlessly, embracing the over-the-top comedy relief without going too far. Must have excellent comedic timing and the ability to break the fourth wall. Ability to play a string instrument (guitar/ukele) a plus. Will be cast 18+.

Age range: reads 30+

Vocal Range: E4-C3 (tenor/baritenor)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability

 

LUCAS:Male presenting. The awkward but otherwise painfully normal young adult who has stolen Wednesday’s heart. Has intimate scenes with Wednesday, who he shares a kiss with.

Age range: reads 16-18

Vocal Range: E4-C3 (tenor/baritenor)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability.

 

ALICE: Female presenting. The nervous mother of Lucas who only talks in poems and dresses in yellow, but suffers a personality break into her dark, sexy side after accidentally drinking a truth potion. Has intimacy scenes with Mal, including straddling him in a chair. Must be able to pull off an extreme difference in character between the “two” Alices. Will be cast 18+.

Age range: reads 30+

Vocal Range: G#5-Ab3 (soprano)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability.

 

MAL: Male presenting. The stressed, no-nonsense workaholic who has lost his old, carefree self as he has aged but is able to finally cut loose, thanks to the Addams. Has intimacy scenes with Alice, including being straddled. Must be able to pull off being the straight man with comedic moments. Will be cast 18+.

Age range: reads 30+

Vocal Range: A4-C3 (tenor)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability.

 

PUGSLEY: Male presenting. The youngest, most mischevious of the Addams family, who is desperate to break up Wednesday and Lucas to keep things normal, no matter the cost.

Age range: reads 10-14

Vocal Range: F4-A2 (alto/tenor)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability.

 

GRANDMA ADDAMS: Female presenting. Undeniably insane with killer comedic timing, the old lady who lives in the attic of the Addams’ mansion.

Age range: reads 70+, can be any age with proper make up & voice acting skills

Vocal Range: F5-G4 (soprano)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability.

 

LURCH:Male presenting. The loyal butler who says everything throw grunts and body language. Must be an extremely comedic actor who is not afraid to use their body.

Age range: Unknown age

Vocal Range: E4-Eb2 (bass)

Dance Ability: Standard dance ability.

PLEASE NOTE

 Mainstage productions do not have any fees associated with auditions and/or callbacks. 

*If cast, performers ARE required to provide the following:

-Shoes (unless otherwise noted). Depending on the production and the character, this can include sneakers, boots, dress, character and/or jazz shoes.

-Make-up (unless otherwise noted). 

-Undergarments (unless otherwise noted). This includes but does not exclude: underwear, undershirts, bras, socks, hoisery, dance belts, dance shorts and/or nudies, depending on the production and character.

*If cast, performers MAY be asked to provide the following:

-Costume Pieces: which are usually pants or common staple pieces performers already own. If performers do not already own the piece but decide to purchase it, they own that piece unless they choose to donate it. If performers do not already own the piece and do not want to purchase it, they will not be required to do so.

-Accessory Pieces: if the performer already owns accessories that are needed in the script or desired for costuming purposes, such as jewlery, hats, wigs, purses, etc. - they may be asked to bring those in. The performer is not required to purchase these pieces. 

*If cast, and the show has RENTED MATERIALS (specifically scripts, librettos, and/or music books), performers are required to put down a $50 script deposit. This fee will be held until rented materials are returned in proper condition and then given back to the performer. 

-Script deposit are due at the first rehearsal. 

-Script deposit can be taken via credit card number on file, personal check, or cash in an envelope with the performer's name on it. 

-Script deposit are kept locked in the office until strike.
