We are excited to partner with your familiy this academic year.

Rooted Resource Center operates as a drop-off learning pod for students ages six (6) and older. Please note that all Kindergarten students must be at least 6 years old by August 1st to start the academic year with us.

As a learning pod operating under Ohio law, parent participation is an important part of our model and helps support a safe, thriving, and compliant learning environment for all families.

Before completing registration, please carefully review the Parent Acknowledgment section, as it contains important information regarding enrollment, participation expectations, volunteer commitments, and program policies.

 

Rooted Resource Center operates from a Biblical worldview and integrates faith into many aspects of community life, programming, and culture.

Rooted Resource Center Is:

• A resource center (not a school or childcare facility)
• A supplement to your family's chosen educational pathway
• A community-centered environment serving parents, caregivers, and students
• A program that offers drop-off opportunities for students ages six (6) and older (Kindergarten and above)
• A ministry supported in part through family and community volunteer involvement

Rooted Resource Center serves students beginning at Kindergarten age six (6). Children who have not reached their sixth (6) birthday August 1st will not be eligible for enrollment

Study hall access begins at age ten (10) or 4th grade.

Parents are required to be on the premises during any gaps in scheduling for students under ten(10) or 4th grade. 

During lunch time students nine (9) or 3rd grade and under must be supervised by a parent or a parent approved designated adult. 

Rooted Resource Center is a community-driven resource center, and family involvement helps create a strong, safe, and thriving environment for all participants.

Rooted Resource Center operates under Ohio's Home Education Learning Pod exemption. To maintain compliance with "parent presence" requirements and support the daily operation of the program, all enrolled families are required to participate in the volunteer program.

 

Volunteer participation is a condition of enrollment and is not optional.

 

Throughout the academic year, families will be asked to serve a minimum of seven (7) times in a variety of roles, including:

 

☐ Lunch Room & Cleanup (1.5-hour shift)

☐ Study Hall Monitor (2-hour shift)

☐ Study Hall Monitor (3-hour shift)

☐ Teacher Lounge Support (3-hour shift)

☐ Teacher Lounge Support (3-hour shift)

☐ Front Entrance Hospitality & Safety (3-hour shift)

☐ Front Entrance Hospitality & Safety (3-hour shift)

☐ Morning Floater / On-Campus Support Volunteer (up to 3 hours)

☐ Afternoon Floater / On-Campus Support Volunteer (up to 3 hours)

 

The Floater / On-Campus Support Volunteer serves as a substitute and support volunteer throughout the day. Responsibilities may include covering volunteer absences, providing break coverage, assisting staff and instructors, helping with student supervision, supporting special activities, and responding to operational needs as they arise. 

Volunteer sign-ups will be released on August 1. Families are responsible for selecting and completing their required  volunteer commitments throughout the academic year.

All participating families are required to attend the Family Orientation Meeting before the start of the academic year.

The orientation will review program policies, procedures, communication expectations, volunteer requirements, student supervision requirements, and other important information necessary for participation in Rooted Resource Center.

 

Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in classes, workshops, educational activities, recreation, field trips, volunteer opportunities, and other programs offered by Rooted Resource Center involves inherent risks that cannot be entirely eliminated. These risks may include, but are not limited to, accidental injury, illness, property damage, transportation-related incidents, and other unforeseen events.

 

Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, and hold harmless Rooted Resource Center, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, instructors, volunteers, ministry partners, and facility providers from any claims, demands, damages, losses, or causes of action arising from participation in Rooted programs, activities, events, or use of facilities, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

To help protect the health and well-being of our community, please do not attend Rooted programs or events if you or your child are experiencing:

• Fever (100°F or higher) within the past 24 hours
• Vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
• A contagious illness or unexplained rash
• Symptoms that may place other participants at risk of illness

Participants should be symptom-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to class or activities.

Emergency Contact

The parent/guardian contact information provided in the Family Information section will be used first in the event of an emergency. If a parent or guardian cannot be reached, please provide an additional emergency contact who is authorized to be contacted on your behalf.

By signing below, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

I understand that Rooted Resource Center serves students beginning at Kindergarten age six (6). Children who have not reached their sixth birthday by August 1st are not eligible to participate in classes, drop-off programming, or other student activities. 

I understand that Rooted Resource Center operates under Ohio's Home Education Learning Pod exemption pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Sections 5104.01 and 5104.02.

I understand that Ohio's Learning Pod exemption requires parent presence while the program is operating and that Rooted Resource Center fulfills this requirement through its parent volunteer system.

I understand that participation in the parent volunteer rotation is a condition of enrollment and is not optional.

I agree to fulfill my family's volunteer commitment of approximately seven (7) shifts during the academic year and understand that volunteer responsibilities may include lunch room supervision and cleanup, teacher lounge support, study hall supervision, front entrance hospitality and safety, on-campus support, and other operational duties as needed.

I understand that if I am unable to fulfill an assigned volunteer shift, I am responsible for arranging coverage and may be required to make up the missed shift at a later date.

I understand that Rooted Resource Center is not a daycare, childcare facility, babysitting service, or after-school care program. It is a formal educational environment focused on academic instruction and educational enrichment.

I understand that students age nine (9)(3rd grade) and younger must be supervised during lunch by a parent or an approved designated adult. Parent volunteers who are present during lunch provide general oversight of the lunch area and are not responsible for individual student supervision. Parents are responsible for ensuring appropriate supervision arrangements are in place for their child. This policy helps ensure that younger students remain safe, accounted for, and are able to arrive at their next scheduled class on time.

I understand that study hall is available only to students age ten (10) or 4th grade and older. It is intended exclusively for academic work.

I understand that students who are not engaged in schoolwork or who become disruptive may lose study hall privileges and may be required to have a parent remain on-site.

I understand that students 4th grade and above may not have schedule gaps exceeding two consecutive class periods unless a parent or guardian remains on-site with them. Responsible high school students are the only exception

I understand that students with schedule gaps longer than two periods must either have a parent remain on the premises or leave campus and return for their next scheduled class. Responsible high school students are the only exception. 

I understand that Rooted Resource Center does not provide recess supervision and is not responsible for supervising students outside of scheduled classes, approved study hall periods, or designated supervised activities.

I understand that failure to comply with volunteer requirements, supervision requirements, study hall expectations, or other program policies may result in the loss of drop- off privileges, enrollment restrictions, suspension from programming, or dismissal from Rooted Resource Center.

I agree to comply with all policies, procedures, supervision requirements, and volunteer obligations established by Rooted Resource Center.
