The Albury Show Society Young Women Competition recognizes young women who can act as positive and capable ambassadors for their local community and promote the agricultural show movement across rural and regional New South Wales. Entrants are assessed on their personality, confidence, communication skills, community involvement, presentation and knowledge of rural and regional issues.
Why Enter?

Eligibility
- Have a genuine interest in rural and regional NSW
- Be willing to act as a community ambassador for the Albury Show and agricultural industry
- Female aged 18–25 years as at 1 May 2027
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Must live, work or study in NSW for at least 3 months prior
- Previous entrants eligible (except prior State Final placegetters)
- Entrants must be available for judging, the Show, and if successful, Zone and State Final commitments.
Regulations & Conditions of Entry
- Entrants must meet eligibility requirements at the time of entry.
- Only candidates nominated by an Agricultural Show Society may progress to Zone or State Judging.
- Certain RAS staff, councillors and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
- Entrants must comply with all directions given by judges, stewards and officials.
- Entrants consent to the use of photographs and quotes for promotional purposes.
- Available to commit to Albury Show commitments for 12 months including 2027 Albury Show
- Willing to comply with the Code of Conduct
- Failure to comply with regulations may result in disqualification.
- Judging decisions are final.

*Entrants are encouraged to complete form B on a word document and not be limited to the space available on the lines given.
Judging Overview
Judging and presentations will take place on the 24th of October at TBC. The day will involve individual interviews, group activities and public speaking. Entrants will be judged on personal presentation, communication, ambitions and personal goals, community involvement, knowledge of the local area and awareness of current affairs. Participants are expected to attend and assist throughour the during of the show.

Entrants in the Albury Show Young Woman Competition are assessed across the following key categories:
1. Communication & Public Speaking
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently
- Verbal presentation during interviews and public appearances
- Engagement with audience and judges
2. Rural & General Knowledge
- Understanding of agriculture and rural industries
- Awareness of current issues affecting rural and regional NSW
- Knowledge of local community and Show movement
3. Ambition & Life Goals
- Personal motivation, goals and aspirations
- Career direction and future plans
- Drive and initiative
4. Community Involvement
- Participation in local community activities
- Involvement in agricultural shows or rural organisations
- Contribution to local events or causes
5. Personality & Confidence
- Personal presentation and self-confidence
- Interpersonal skills and ability to relate to others
- Overall suitability as an ambassador
6. Presentation
- Turnout and professionalism
- Appropriate attire for interviews and show events

Local Code of Conduct
Albury Show Society – Young Women Competition
All entrants and titleholders are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful, responsible and professional manner when representing the Albury Show Society.
-Act with honesty, integrity and courtesy at all times.
-Treat judges, officials, sponsors, volunteers and fellow entrants with respect.
-Dress and behave in a manner appropriate to a community ambassador role.
-Comply with all instructions from Show Society officials and event organizers.
-Refrain from behaviour that may bring the Competition or Show Society into disrepute.
-Follow all health, safety and venue rules at official events.
-Use social media responsibly when referring to the Competition or Show Society.
Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disqualification or removal of title at the discretion of the Albury Show Society.
