Festival Date: Sunday, October 11, 2026
Festival Time: 11am-5pm
Día de Muertos Vista marks a historic moment for South Santa Fe Avenue as the community comes together for the first official street closure dedicated to honoring Día de Muertos — a sacred Mexican tradition rooted in remembrance, love, and ancestral connection.
More than a festival, this is a cultural gathering created to preserve tradition, celebrate identity, and create space for generations to reconnect with their heritage. In a part of Vista often overlooked in cultural programming, this inaugural event will transform the corridor into a living tribute to those who came before us, while uplifting the stories, artistry, and traditions that continue to shape our community today.
Centered around the powerful traditions of altar-building, marigolds, music, and storytelling, Día de Muertos Vista will highlight the richness of Oaxacan Indigenous culture and the diverse regional traditions of Mexico. Families will have the opportunity to build and display community altars, honoring loved ones and sharing their stories with the public.

The festival will feature a Main Stage, Children’s Zone, Catrina Contest, Sugar Skull Workshops, live music, traditional dance, and a curated marketplace of gente-owned brands, artists, and food vendors — all intentionally selected to reflect the soul of the culture.
This is not just about celebrating the past — it is about strengthening community in the present and ensuring future generations understand the beauty, depth, and importance of where they come from.

Become part of history as we build what will become a new annual tradition for Vista — rooted in remembrance, powered by community, and created for the culture.
