  • Thank you for your interest in booking a marine science program with us! We look forward to working with you and sharing the wonders of the ocean with your students. To help us best meet your needs, please complete the following form to the best of your ability.

    Please note that completion of this form does not confirm your program booking. A staff member will contact you to confirm program details prior to booking.

  • Would you like parent chaperone admission fees included on your school's program invoice? If no, please note that parent chaperones will be responsible for covering their own general admission fees.*
  • Your field trip fee will be calculated based upon your program choice and number of parent chaperones, if applicable.

    Please review our program and pricing information below before proceeding. 

    Discovery Labs (M, Thu, Fri) - Students visit the Aquarium for an interactive, hands-on learning experience focused on 1-2 topic(s) of your choice:

    One 45 minute program per class of 30 (max) students: $20/student

    Two 45 minute programs per class of 30 (max) students: $30/student

    Tidepools on Tour (W, Sat) - Aquarium staff visit your school or event space with a mobile touch tank and a selection of local intertidal animals:

    (30 min sessions per ~30 students is recommended)

    60 minute program: $600

    90 minute program: $650

    120 minute program: $700

    Each additional 30 minutes will be charged at a rate of $50 per 30 minutes.

    Floating Lab (Tue) - Students participate in a two-hour boat excursion to  explore the sights and sounds of Avila Bay:

    Single 120 minute program (for a class of 32 (max) students): $1,400

    Double 120-minute program (for two classes of up to 32 students each, rotating through the boat experience) $2,800

    Marine Life Monitoring Program (M,Thu,Fri) - Students use basic scientific survey techniques to assess the diversity and abundance of marine life in rocky intertidal or sandy beach habitats (recommended for middle and high school students):

    120 minute program for a class of 30 (max) students: $900

  • If you are interested in a single Discovery Lab per class ($20/student), select one program topic. If you are interested in two labs per class ($30/student), select two topics. Visit our Discovery Labs page for lab descriptions.*
  • How many boats are you interested in booking? Each lab lasts 120 minutes and has a capacity of 34 passengers (includes students and chaperones). A maximum of two boats can be booked per day to accommodate multiple classes.*
  • Discovery Lab Registration. Please select your first preferred date and time for your lab. If more than one class is attending, classes will rotate between 45 minute labs and Aquarium time. (An additional outside free time rotation may be added for groups of three or more classes.) For example, if three classes are attending, you will have three 45 minute rotations. If two classes are attending, you will have two 45 minute rotations.
  • Spring availability is limited. If your desired date/time is unavailable, another program has already been booked by another school. Please let us know if you would like to be added to our Spring programs waitlist if you cannot find a date that works for you.
  • Tidepools on Tour Registration. Please select your preferred date and time for your program. Each program has a one-hour-minimum requirement to book.*
  • Spring availability is limited. If your desired date/time is unavailable, another program has already been booked by another school. Please let us know if you would like to be added to our Spring programs waitlist if you cannot find a date that works for you.

              Parents/chaperones are welcome to attend at standard general admission rates ($15 per person). If you would like to include parent chaperones in your invoice, please indicate the number of attendance.

              To help provide the best learning experience, we kindly request no more than 10 parent chaperones per class.

            • Program Scholarships

              The Central Coast Aquarium strives to offer scholarship assistance to schools seeking financial support.

              Through the generous support of local grants and private community donors, scholarship funds are awarded to schools on a first-come, first-served basis, as they are available. Schools with Title I status will be given priority when receiving scholarships.

              If you would like to apply for a scholarship please indicate so below. A staff member will follow up with you regarding your application and availability of funds to support your field trip.
