  • Hi, I'm Drew!
  • I'm a homeschooling mom who loves helping kids learn through great books, hands-on experiences, nature, creativity, and meaningful conversations. I believe learning should be engaging, memorable, and connected to real life—not just something that happens at a desk.
  • My heart is to create a welcoming environment where children feel encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, build confidence, and develop a genuine love of learning. I especially enjoy incorporating stories, nature, life skills, character development, and interactive activities that help lessons come alive.
  • As a Christian, I value teaching children not only knowledge but also qualities like kindness, perseverance, responsibility, gratitude, and compassion. I strive to make my classes a place where students feel safe, supported, and excited to participate.
  • I'm excited to learn, explore, and grow alongside your children!

  • Course Description

  • Wonder & Wilderness is a hands-on, literature-rich science class designed to help homeschool families experience science through direct observation, exploration, and meaningful connection with God's creation. Rooted in a biblical worldview and inspired by nature-immersion educational philosophies, this class invites students to learn science not from worksheets, but from the fields, forests, streams, gardens, and changing seasons around them.
  • Throughout this course, we will explore topics such as:
    • Plant and animal life cycles
    • Weather and seasonal changes
    • Water cycles and watersheds
    • Basic botany and nature identification
    • Habitats and ecosystems
    • Birds, insects, and pollinators
    • Soil, seeds, and gardening
    • Nature journaling and observation skills
    • Stewardship of creation
  • While this class aligns with key concepts found in modern science standards, our focus is not on completing worksheets or memorizing facts. Instead, students will develop scientific understanding through observation, discovery, experimentation, and real-world experiences that make learning memorable and meaningful.
  • Designed as a 14-week journey, this course provides a gentle yet meaningful introduction to nature-based science. Drawing inspiration from the Beautiful Feet Books nature study curriculum, we will combine literature, outdoor exploration, hands-on activities, and a biblical worldview to help children experience the wonder of God's creation.
  • Wonder & Wilderness is more than a science class—it is an invitation to cultivate lifelong curiosity, deepen family connections, and discover the beauty of God's creation throughout every season of the year.
  • "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands." — Psalm 19:1
