Workshop Overview
In the lead-up to Junior Finals commencing in mid-August, the AFL Victoria Coaching and Umpiring teams will deliver an online webinar designed for Junior coaches across Victoria competing in finals.

Finals can be a more intense and challenging environment for all involved. This session aims to support coaches and club staff in creating a positive, well-managed experience that benefits players, umpires, and the wider football community.

While the session is designed with finals teams in mind, it is a valuable learning opportunity for all coaches regardless of participation in finals.

The workshop title, “Your Actions, Their Game”, reflects our shared responsibility to help shape positive finals football environments.

Key Outcomes
Participating Coaches & Support Staff will:

Develop a shared “finals charter” for coaches and clubs
* Learn how to ensure a positive experience for all players, regardless of results
* Gain insight into the umpire’s perspective during finals
* Understand how coaches can better support umpiring experiences
* Contribute towards improving player and umpire retention into 2027

Who Should Attend
* Junior Head Coaches (strongly encouraged)
* Assistant Coaches and Team Managers (welcome and encouraged)
* A member of the club’s Executive Committee

Accreditation
Coaches and Assistant Coaches who register and attend will receive 30 points toward coaching reaccreditation.

We encourage all eligible coaches and club representatives to attend and be part of shaping a positive finals experience across Victoria.
