Application Form
The Skating Club of Northern Virginia (SCNV), wishing to recognize those skaters who are training and competing for the club while maintaining excellence in their scholastic endeavors, announces the Skating Club of Northern Virginia’s Scholars Award. The club will recognize those skaters earning a 3.5 or above grade point average in their coursework.

To be eligible for the award, the skater must:
1. Be enrolled in an accredited middle school, high school, or college/university (7th grade or above).
2. Be a member of SCNV and be in good standing with the club.
3. Maintain a 3.5 or above average for the full year of the school year prior to the one in which the award is presented.
4. For proof, submit an unofficial school transcript either stating your GPA, or submit your self-computed GPA using your digital report card along with your separate GPA computation. Only digital transcript or report card files from your school are accepted; NO selfies/photographs or digital snapshots of grading summaries or student coursework history/dashboards will be accepted).
5. Represent SCNV and participate in at least one test session or competition during the skating season corresponding to the award period: July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026. Virginia Ice Theatre and National Blades team members are eligible if you meet all the requirements.
Please complete this electronic form by July 31, 2025. The SCNV Board of Directors will verify the documentation to ensure that the candidate meets the requirements.

Recipients will receive a certificate suitable for framing and will be recognized at an event in this fall of 2026, or mailed directly to the skater's home address. A list of awardees will be compiled for the Club’s archives, and a letter of congratulations will be sent to the recipient’s school (per request).
