CONSENT IN TERMS OF THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION ACT 4 OF 2013 (“POPI”)
By signing this agreement I hereby confirm I am a competent person capable of acting in respect of a child, or the signatory himself/herself (the “client”) and that I give my permission to the processing and storage of the client’s personal information electronically and physically in terms of the POPI Act by PropertyPro Rentals PTY LTD and their affiliates (the “Agency”) as set out in paragraph 1 below.
Please take note that the Agency is an accountable institution in terms of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act and is required to obtain, process and store certain personal information in terms of such obligations.
The client hereby consents to:
Their personal information being processed and stored and such information includes the client’s name, identity number, marital status, gender, contact number, email address and/or other identifying information for contact and direct and indirect marketing purposes relating to the services rendered by the Agency from time to time.
Their personal information being stored in an electronic and physical format in such manner and with such service providers that the Agency may utilise from time to time, the client being aware that such servers and/or storage and/or processing facilities may be based outside of South Africa from time to time. The Agency will take reasonable steps to protect the client’s personal information, including stipulating such protection with its service providers and notifying the client of any data breaches which may occur as soon as practicable after the Agency becomes aware of the same.
The client’s personal information will be stored until the client requests the removal or deletion and/or destruction of such information.
Such further processing of such personal information as the Agency may determine necessary and/or beneficial from time to time.
The Agency hereby advises the client that:
the Agency will take reasonable steps and precautions to prevent the loss of, damage to or unauthorised destruction of personal information; and the unlawful access to or processing of personal information.
The client may contact Wesley Shuttes (Information Officer) - Wesley@propertypro.co.za, to determine what information is on file, to update or correct such information or request that such information be destroyed or deleted.
The client has the right of access to the personal information held by the Agency and has the right to rectify such information.
The client has the right to object to the processing of his/her personal information (subject to FICA as mentioned above).
The client has the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator, whose details are JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, 2001; P.O Box 31533, Braamfontein, Johannesburg 2017; and complaints.IR@justice.gov.za
