Thank you for your inquiry about Seymour Community Church and its programs. Our facility is fully accredited by the Tennessee Department of Education and the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools. Seymour Community Christian Child Development Center serves children ages 3 through 12. As a ministry of Seymour Community Church, we view our services as a ministry to our community. We value parent involvement as one of the keys to successful education, we stress that each of our teachers maintain a consistent channel of communication with our parents.
Job Description:
1. Loyalty to this school; staff, including the director, administrator, and pastor is a vital part of this ministry. Any problems should be addressed in regards to the following chain of structure: director first, school administrator second, and pastor should there be no resolution.
2. Participation in any in-service program is required for employment in order to fulfill state and TACS requirements for daycare and pre-school programs.
3. Parents are to be kept informed of the progress and activities of their child.
4. Each worker will be evaluated quarterly during the calendar year. The director will perform the evaluations using the pre-school evaluation form and will review the evaluation with the worker.
5. The following standards and convictions are part of our ministry and your support in both word and action is necessary:
a. Total abstinence from alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs.
b. Abstinence from ungodly movies, dances, or other forms of worldly entertainment.
c. All workers are expected to adhere to the daycare dress code and dress modestly at all times.
d. All workers will observe any other standards put forth by the administration.
6. Any absence needs to be approved two weeks in advance by the director. In the event of sickness, notification must be given to the director as soon as possible before the worker is expected to report for work. If the worker is absent without approval the absence will be recorded on the evaluation for that quarter and the worker will not be paid for the absence. Perfect attendance and vacation time will be handled as set forth in the memorandum attached.
7. The director will handle new enrollments into the pre-school. The director is the only one authorized to enter student's files and records.
8. All scheduling of activities, field trips, crafts, entertainment, etc. will be handled by the director. Suggestions and plans must be remitted to the director for approval.
9. All money is to be handled by the director, the opening worker, and the closing worker. Care must be taken to provide written receipts for all monies received.
10. Sick children should be taken to the director for notification of parents. Children should never make phone calls themselves. If the director is unavailable, a worker will be designated to assume the responsibility.
11. Each worker should follow the daycare guidelines concenering discipline, playground rules, gym rules, and room rules, which are attached to this contract.
12. Workers are expected to be faithful and regular in attendance at Seymour Community Chruch or a local church in the area of their residence. They should be activitely involved in the church ministries and activities.
13. Realizing that no person is perfect and mistakes will be made; workers are expected to do their best for the cause of Christ, to be an example in personal conduct and the Christian walk, being careful to bring no shame or reproach upon the church, the pre-school, and the name of Jesus Christ.
