• 2026 Public Health in Practice Conference

  • The 2026 WPHA Public Health in Practice (PHIP) Conference taking place September 29-30, 2026, at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Stevens Point, WI. The Conference will be in-person only and will use Whova, a conference app.

    All accepted abstract and poster presenters must register for the Conference and are responsible for the cost. A discount code will be offered to presenters to reduce the registration fee. Notification on acceptance will be emailed to the primary poster presenter in mid August 2026.

  • WPHA is incorporating the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals (Core Competencies) into our call for presentations. Core Competencies represent foundational or crosscutting knowledge and skills for the broad practice of public health that professionals may want to possess as they work to protect and improve the nation's health. The Core Competencies offer a starting point for public health professionals in identifying professional development needs and developing training plans.

  • WPHA is a provider of CHES/MCHES continuing education contact hours. Please list at least one Area of Responsibility, Competency or Sub-Competency that will be covered in your sesssion. Presenters do NOT have to be CHES/MCHES certified to present a session at PHIP. Presenters should have knowledge and exeperience on the topic(s) being presented in the proposal.

    This event will be using a conference app (Whova) that gives attendees the opportunity to connect with speakers in a variety of ways. To build speaker profiles on the app, presenter(s) agree to submit additional information including presenter bio and headshot/photo as instructed by staff and conference planning committee. Microphones must be used to ensure a quality conference experience for all.

  • TRAVEL EXPENSES / HONORARIUM

    Not applicable. The presenter(s) forego an honorarium and agree to provide their presentation to WPHA for gratis.

    All accepted abstract presenters must register for the Conference and are responsible for the cost. A promo code will be provided to all session speakers for a discount off the registration fee. No refunds will be provided for unused codes.

  • COMMERCIAL SUPPORT STANDARDS

    The Commercial Support Standards require that your presentation, if selected, be free of commercial bias and that any information regarding commercial products/services be based on scientific methods generally accepted by the medical community. When discussing therapeutic options, it is our preference that you use only generic names. If it is necessary to use a trade name, then those of several companies must be used.

    Further, should your presentation include discussion of any unlabeled/investigational use of a commercial product, you are required to disclose this to the participants.

    SPEAKER RELEASE & ATTESTATION

    Speaker/presenter agrees that WPHA and its agents and licensees may:

    • Use, for advertising, the speaker's name, photo (if applicable), presentation title, presentation description, and/or biographical data in connection with speaker's presentation.
    • Include speaker's presentation in conference material distribution to all participants; however, speaker reserves the right to withhold handouts which speaker does not want distributed and/or for which speaker does not have copyright ownership.
    • Distribute copies of handouts, in pdf format, to participants of the Conference.

    Submission of this form to the WPHA office indicates understanding and acceptance of these terms for participating in the Conference.
