BSMA Gala 2027 Application

the British Suzuki Gala, 27-28 March 2027, Birmingham, UK

We expect to receive several hundred applications, so please read the following information carefully to ensure your submission is accurate.

Please note that applications close on 09 October 2026 at 5pm BST for Pianos and 16 October 2026 at 5pm BST for all other intruments. Take your time to enter the correct information as all applications will be given equal consideration at the end of this submission period.

Please enter one child per form. Each participant must complete their own application.

Children of all ages can participate in the playtogether, but please note the minimum age for the Gala is 7 years old at the time of performance. All participants in either event must be learning with a registered Suzuki teacher.

The concert repertoire is available on the BSMA website at https://www.britishsuzuki.org.uk/pages/repertoire2027.

All instruments (except pianos) will play down through all the repertoire from the group they are allocated to Twinkles, and all music will be performed from memory.

Please indicate your child's current top piece in their book to enable places to be allocated. Please do not attempt to anticipate the piece they will be able to play at the time of the Gala. Each child will only be allocated a place for one instrument.

Pianists:
You can choose to apply for the Playtogether or the Gala Concert. Those who apply only for the Playtogether should choose their top piece and do NOT need to submit a video. Those who audition for the Gala Concert will also be considered for the Playtogether if all available places in the Gala are full. Please choose from the seven available repertoire pieces. You must upload your audition video to YouTube as an "Unlisted" video and enter the correct URL next to your choice. See instructions here. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION WITHOUT VIDEO UPLOADS.

Terms & Conditions of Registration

Safeguarding

The safety of children, families, teachers and staff is our number one priority. Parents are responsible for the wellbeing of their children at all times when not signed in for official Gala rehearsals/concerts and children should not be left unattended.

In the event of a safeguarding issue, please note our safeguarding lead is Nickie Chapman (admin@britishsuzuki.com).

Photo policy

A professional photographer will be taking pictures at both rehearsals and at the concert. A professional videographer will record the concert.

DVDs or streaming files will be available for purchase after the event.

We reserve the right to use any photographs or videos of reheasals or performances in our marketing and social media.

Refund policy

The registration fee is non-refundable, except in the instance where we are unable to offer a place in the concert or playtogether.

If the concert needs to be postponed due to an unforseen circumstance, your registration fee will be carried over to the rescheduled date.

Mandatory Rehearsals

Registration will begin at 8am on Saturday. All performers need to be available at this time. The rehearsal schedule is subject to last-minute changes.

If your child is not signed in and present at the start of their rehearsal, unfortunately they will not be allowed to participate in the Gala concert.

On the day of the concert, all performers will need to be available to be at the venue for 8am.
