This application only applies to the 2026-27 academic year. Access will be reset on July 1, 2027 and you will have to apply again for the next academic year, with the exception of Staff and Faculty.

 

Summer Public Building Hours:

Monday–Friday: 9am-5pm
Closed on Saturday and Sunday.

1. Common spaces must be respected and kept clean. Food and beverages must be disposed of properly in bins and receptacles.

1.1. Food and beverage are NOT allowed in practice rooms. Plain water in a securely closed container is allowable but cannot be placed on any instrument.

2. Doorways and walkways must be clear of obstruction.

3. Do NOT prop open exterior doors. Make sure doors lock behind you to prevent "tailgating."

4. Smoking is not permitted in the building.

5. Alcohol is not premitted in the building.

6. Do not leave any personal property unattended for any amount of time, as it is at risk of loss, damage, or theft. The University is not responsible for lost or damaged property.

The UC Berkeley ID card with key card access to the Student Center Basement (SCB) area is hereafter referred to as "Cardkey."

Cardkey Usage

1. I will report the loss/theft of any Cardkeys immediately to the University Police Department and Cal Band Coordinator’s Office.
2. I understand that my Cardkey is issued for my exclusive use and may not be duplicated, loaned, or used to allow any unauthorized person into a controlled area.

Access Removal

1. I understand that my access to the SCB will be discontinued at the end of the academic year, and I must re-apply each year.
2. I will follow the Basement Rules listed above.
3. I understand that three (3) incidents of non-compliance with the Terms and Conditions for Cardkey Usage will result in termination of my access to the SCB.
4. I understand that if my access to the SCB has been withdrawn due to violation of the terms and conditions, reinstatement of suspended cardkey privileges may be approved only by the Student Center Building Manager.
5. Failure to follow these policies may compromise community safety and may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct.

Abuse of the Cardkey privilege and/or non-compliance with this agreement is a violation of Penal Code 469, and may result in the revocation of Cardkey use and/or disciplinary or criminal action.
