Baraat safety policy & agreement Please review the safety rules below, initial where indicated, and acknowledge your agreement to help ensure a safe and joyful Baraat celebration.
• No drones within 200 feet of the horse. The high-pitched buzz of a drone can startle a horse and may cause stress or sudden movement.
• No pyrotechnics, color bombs, sparklers, or bubbles. Unexpected visual effects can startle even well-trained horses.
• No stealing the groom’s shoes while he is mounted. Removing shoes can unintentionally prompt the horse to move forward.
• No throwing items at the horse or groom. Please refrain from throwing rice, coins, or other items while the groom is mounted; these are allowed once the groom has safely dismounted.
• Groom only on the horse. For safety and insurance reasons, only the groom may be mounted. Others may pose for photos nearby but may not place weight on the horse or the groom.
• Maintain a safe perimeter. Keep clear of the horse’s line of sight, do not crowd its sides, and avoid standing directly behind it. We will bring the groom as close to the festivities as the horse is comfortable with at the time.
• No striking or swatting the horse. Treat the horse with respect and care at all times.
The groom and horse will remain behind the baraat; the party will lead the horse forward. For safety, we will only bring the horse into the crowd as much as the horse is comfortable with at the time. We will gauge the horse’s comfort and address safety issues as they arise, and we will try to bring the groom as close to the action as the horse allows.
I have read and agree to the safety policy above. I understand that violating these rules is a breach of contract and that no refunds will be issued. If a violation occurs, the groom will be asked to dismount immediately and the horse will be removed from the premises. A $2,000 horse re-training fee will be applied for any breach of these safety rules.*
