  • AI for the Rest of Us: Using (and Refusing)

AI isn't one-size-fits-all. You've heard the recent headlines about AI. But ignoring AI carries its own substantial risk — it's already shaping your world, opted in or not. Learn to harness its benefits and avoid its dangers from someone who uses — and knows when to avoid — AI every day.

    About This Workshop
AI for the Rest of Us: Using (and Refusing)

    Date & Time: October 17, 2026 | 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM (Central Time)
Format: Online via Zoom | Small group (max 25 participants)
    Cost: $75 per person

    What to Expect
Note: This is a different workshop from our earlier "AI for the Rest of Us" session — this one focuses on safety, boundaries, and judgment rather than harnessing AI abilities. No prior class required.

    You'll learn:

    • What's actually changed recently — including AI systems acting in unexpected ways — and what that does (and doesn't) mean for you
    • How to protect your privacy and personal information when using AI tools
    • How to set boundaries around authenticity and personal agency, so AI assists your voice instead of replacing it
    • Simple habits for verifying and quality-checking what AI tells you

    You'll participate in:

    • Group discussion about real concerns
    • Hands-on practice with guided prompts
    • Small-group exercises
    • Personal action planning

Before You Register: Tech Setup Required
✓ Test Zoom access (instructions provided upon registration)
✓ Set up a free account on Claude.ai and test accessing it
✓ You can use ChatGPT or Gemini if preferred, but we recommend Claude for security and continuity throughout the workshop
✓ Have a laptop or tablet ready (smartphones aren't ideal for hands-on practice)

    Expectations & Participation
This is an interactive workshop, not a lecture. We ask that you:

    • Come prepared to experiment and ask questions
    • Respect others' concerns about AI (this is a judgment-free space)
    • Participate in small-group exercises
    • Be willing to try things that might feel uncomfortable at first
    • Not required: Prior AI experience, technical skills, or enthusiasm about AI. Skepticism is welcome.

    Refunds & Cancellations
Full refund: Available up to 24 hours before workshop start time (October 16 at 9:30 AM CT). If you need to cancel, reply to your confirmation email or contact us directly. We understand life happens.
