The Tacoma Branch NAACP is pleased to present the 2026 Scholarship Application.
The Tacoma Branch of the NAACP works to ensure social, political, educational, and
economic equality for all people and to eliminate (eradicate) racial discrimination in
Tacoma and Pierce County.
Purpose: To acknowledge and celebrate the excellent achievement in academics of high school students of color by providing a one-time scholarship to two (2) eligible graduating high school students who will attend a college or university.
Award: Two (2) scholarships will be awarded to two (2) students selected. The award and scholarship will be presented to the selected recipient at our Annual Freedom Fund Banquet. The Tacoma Branch NAACP awards scholarships based on a comprehensive process. Areas that are reviewed by the committee include but are not limited to the following: NAACP membership, academic accomplishments, community service, and references. The organization pays scholarship funds directly to the recipient. The NAACP Scholarship Award is $1000.00 to each recipient.
Submission: Completed applications and other documentation should submitted online.
All instructions relating to this application must be followed without exception or the application will not be considered. Completed applications must be received by the date noted or they will be voided and not considered.
All decisions of the Scholarship Committee are final and not subject to reconsideration. Please follow the directions and provide all information as required.
