Cooking Series Policies & Procedures
Registration & Payment
- Full payment is required to reserve a student’s spot unless a payment plan has been approved.
- Space is limited and enrollment is first come, first served.
- ESA/ClassWallet payments are accepted when applicable.
- Registration is not complete until payment and all required forms are submitted.
Attendance
- Students are expected to arrive on time and ready to participate.
- Classes begin promptly at the scheduled start time.
- Excessive tardiness may result in missed instruction and cooking activities.
- Parents should notify the academy if a student will be absent.
Missed Classes
- Due to food preparation and ingredient costs, missed classes are non-refundable.
- Recipe packets and lesson materials may be provided when available.
- Make-up classes are not guaranteed.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations made 14 or more days before the first class will receive a full refund minus processing fees.
- Cancellations made 7–13 days before the first class will receive a 50% refund.
- No refunds will be issued within 7 days of the first class.
- No refunds will be issued after the series has begun.
- Charchelly’s Culinary Academy reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, a full refund or credit will be issued.
Student Conduct
Students are expected to:
- Follow instructor directions at all times.
- Practice kitchen safety.
- Respect instructors, classmates, and equipment.
- Use appropriate language and behavior.
- Participate in cleaning and sanitizing their workstations.
Students who engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may be removed from class without refund.
Food Allergies & Dietary Restrictions
- Parents must disclose all food allergies and dietary restrictions during registration.
- While every effort will be made to accommodate allergies, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
- Students with severe allergies should carry any required emergency medications.
Kitchen Safety
Students will learn and practice:
- Proper handwashing procedures
- Knife safety
- Food handling and sanitation
- Safe cooking temperatures
- Equipment operation and safety
Failure to follow safety rules may result in removal from an activity or class.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
- Parents/guardians must sign students in and out unless alternative arrangements have been made.
- Students will only be released to authorized individuals listed on registration forms.
- Repeated late pick-ups may result in additional fees.
Photography & Media Release
- Photos and videos may be taken during classes for educational and promotional purposes.
- Parents may opt out of media participation by completing the appropriate form before classes begin.
Take-Home Food
- Students will typically bring home food prepared during class.
- Food should be refrigerated promptly upon arrival home.
- Charchelly’s Culinary Academy is not responsible for food quality once it leaves the facility.
Dress Code
Students must:
- Wear closed-toe shoes.
- Wear comfortable clothing suitable for cooking.
- Tie back long hair.
- Avoid loose jewelry while cooking.
Communication
All academy announcements, schedule updates, and important information will be communicated via email and/or text message.
Liability Acknowledgment
Participation in cooking classes involves the use of kitchen equipment, knives, heat sources, and food preparation activities. By enrolling, parents/guardians acknowledge these risks and agree to release Charchelly’s Culinary Academy, Chef Michelle Barr, Chef Charles, and staff from liability except in cases of gross negligence.
