  • Key Responsibilities
    • Budget Management: Develop and submit semester budget proposals, track income/expenses, maintain financial records, manage club bank account, process payments and reimbursements, monitor cash flow.
    • Financial Planning & Reporting: Create semester budget proposals, present financial reports at board meetings, forecast funding needs, work with Fundraising Head on revenue goals.
    • Tax Compliance & Non-Profit Management: File annual tax returns for 501(c)(3) status, maintain IRS compliance, keep records for audits, coordinate with university on non-profit requirements, document donations/sponsorships.
    • Fundraising & Sponsorship Financial Management: Process and acknowledge sponsor payments/donations, track fundraising revenue/expenses, ensure proper receipting for tax-deductible donations.
  • What You'll Learn / Skills Used
    Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; budgeting and financial tracking; basic accounting principles; non-profit tax requirements (Form 990-N/990-EZ filing); financial management tools / QuickBooks (preferred, not required); high attention to detail, organization, and ethical handling of financial information.
  • Key Deliverables & Time Commitment
    Semester Budget Proposals (first 2 weeks of Fall and Spring); Monthly Financial Reports; Annual Tax Filing (Form 990-N or 990-EZ); End-of-Semester Financial Summary; Estimated 4-6 hours per week, higher during budget prep and tax season; board meetings required.
