      For safety reasons, clients must disclose any known behavioral concerns.

      Examples include:

      • bites to humans
      • bites to other dogs
      • lunging or snapping
      • severe reactivity
      • guarding behavior
      • handling sensitivity
      • fear-related aggression

      Failure to disclose known behavioral risks may increase the likelihood of injury and releases Dog Learning Lab, LLC from liability for resulting incidents.

    • Agreements, Policies, & Liability Release 
    • This Agreement is entered into between Dog Learning Lab, LLC and the undersigned client (“Client”) regarding dog training services.

      By completing and signing (typed signature) this agreement, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following terms.

    • Responsibility for Your Dog

      You acknowledge that you are legally responsible for the behavior of your dog at all times.

      If your dog injures a person, another dog, or causes property damage, you agree that you are solely responsible for any resulting damages or expenses.

      You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Dog Learning Lab, LLC from any claims or legal actions arising from your dog’s behavior.

    • Trainer Handling Authorization

      Some services may involve the trainer handling the dog without the client present.

      By agreeing below, you authorize Dog Learning Lab, LLC to:

      • handle your dog
      • leash or restrain your dog
      • conduct training exercises or training walks
      • implement appropriate safety or management strategies
    • Training Safety

      Training may occur in homes, shelters, public spaces, or other environments. Dog training professionals may be exposed to inherent risks, including bites, scratches, lunging, or other injuries while handling dogs.

      By participating in services, Client agrees to:

      • disclose hazards in the training environment
      • supervise children during sessions
      • ensure dogs remain on leash unless directed otherwise
      • clean up after their dog
      • follow all trainer instructions

      Client acknowledges that trainers may be injured while handling their dog, understands these risks are inherent in dog training and behavior work, and agrees that Dog Learning Lab, LLC shall not be held liable for injuries sustained by the trainer while handling the client's dog.

      During training, Dog Learning Lab, LLC may recommend or utilize management tools or equipment such as harnesses, long lines, muzzles, treat pouches, or other training tools designed to increase safety and improve trainingoutcomes. Client agrees to use recommended equipment responsibly and understand that proper use is important for safety.

      Dog Learning Lab, LLC reserves the right to stop or modify any session if the trainer determines that continuing would be unsafe.

    • Payment & Refund Policy

      Payment is due on or before the first scheduled session unless otherwise agreed in writing. Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled session may receive a refund or rescheduling option depending on the program.

    • No Guarantee of Results

      Training outcomes vary depending on many factors including consistency, environment, and the dog’s individual temperament.

      Dog Learning Lab, LLC does not guarantee specific training outcomes.

    • Assumption of Risk

      Dog training and behavior consulting involve inherent risks. Dogs are animals capable of unpredictable behavior including biting, scratching, lunging, jumping, and causing injury or property damage.

      Services provided by Dog Learning Lab, LLC may occur in homes, shelters, public spaces, veterinary facilities, or other environments.

      By participating in training services, you acknowledge and agree that:

      • Dogs may behave unpredictably.
      • Training and behavior work may involve risk of injury to people, animals, or property.
      • Behavior modification work may involve dogs experiencing fear, stress, or reactivity.
      • Dogs participating in training may be exposed to other dogs and environments where contagious illnesses or parasites may be present.

      You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in training services.

       

    • Liability Release

      To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release and hold harmless Dog Learning Lab, LLC from any claims, liabilities, damages, or losses arising from participation in training services.

      This release includes claims arising from the ordinary negligence of Dog Learning Lab, LLC.

      This release does not apply to gross negligence or intentional misconduct, which cannot legally be waived under Maryland law.

      This release applies to services conducted:

      • in client homes
      • in shelters or rescue facilities
      • in public spaces
      • during training sessions, demonstrations, or dog handling
    • Veterinary Authorization

      You confirm that your dog is in good health and current on vaccinations unless disclosed otherwise.

      If an emergency occurs and you cannot be reached, you authorize Dog Learning Lab, LLC to seek veterinary care for your dog at your expense.

      Dog Learning Lab, LLC is not responsible for veterinary expenses incurred during participation in training services.

    • Media Release

      Dog Learning Lab, LLC may take photographs or videos during training sessions for educational, promotional, or marketing purposes. Images and videos will primarily feature dogs; however, owners or handlers may be incidentally captured. Dog Learning Lab, LLC will not identify clients by name or intentionally use recognizable images of clients without their separate written permission.
