About the Award
The International Conference on Urban Education (ICUE) is accepting nominations for the 2026 ICUE Urban Educator of the Year Award. This prestigious award recognizes an outstanding P–12 classroom teacher who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, service and impact in advancing educational excellence for students in urban schools and communities.
The award celebrates teachers whose work exemplifies excellence, equity and a commitment to improving educational outcomes for all students.
Eligibility
Nominees must:
- Be a current P–12 classroom teacher.
- Demonstrate excellence in urban education.
- Have made a significant positive impact on student learning and achievement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to educational equity and student success.
- Serve as a leader within their school and/or community.
- Be nominated by a colleague, school or district leader, parent, community member or through self-nomination.
