2027 CELA Fountain Scholar Nomination Form

DESCRIPTION- The CELA Fountain Scholar Program is an endowed annual award in recognition and support of Black, Indigenous, and persons (students) of color in landscape architecture with exceptional design skills and who use their skills and ideas to influence, communicate, lead and advance design solutions for contemporary issues.
Application Guidelines

· Step One: Departments should provide the name, photo, biography and letter of support for the selected students (1 undergraduate and one graduate), ideally no later than October 31, 2026 at 11:59pm PST.

· Step Two: Students nominated by their department to be Fountain Scholars are eligible to complete for the Fountain Scholarship. Complete the application and submit all required materials by October 31, 2026 at 11:59pm PST.

Provide a color headshot in jpg format that is at least 1800 x1200 pixels. It should be well-lit with a simple background, and include your entire head and shoulders. CELA retains the right to use any submitted photo on our website and in other materials promoting CELA’s scholarship programs Cancelof
Bio for the CELA Website (150-word max, 3rd person)
Provide a short cover letter, which may be used for publicity. In 150 words or less, describe your background, current educational pursuits, future plans, and any other personal interests or activities. Please write your bio in the 3rd person. A full bio may be requested for recipients of the scholarship. This information will be used for marketing purposed and for publicity sharing of the award.
Letter of Introduction: A brief letter of introduction prepared by a faculty member will be used to understand the student's impact on the program, making them stand out as a Fountain Scholar. It should also include (but not be limited to) references to accomplishments outlined in the student’s resume, portfolio, and essay.
