• Parent Group & Workshop Survey

Help us shape Julia Ryan Psychology's groups and workshops to best support you and your family.
  • Parenting a neurodivergent child can be a lot to hold, and the right group at the right moment can make a real difference. We're planning what to offer next, and we want it built around what would actually help you — not our best guess.

This takes about 4–5 minutes and adjusts to your answers, so you won't be asked about things that don't apply. Be honest: "not for me" is genuinely useful, and tells us as much as a yes. We're grateful for your time and your candor.

  • Which of these describe you right now?*
  • Who are you supporting?*
  • Group Types

We tend to run two different styles of group and are interested in hearing from you about your interest and preference in both styles. Both types of groups usually have a component of each aspect, but lean more heavily in one direction.

Connection & support — talk, share, feel less alone. The facilitator guides discussion; the value is the other parents.

Skills-building — structured, focused on learning specific strategies or information. The facilitator teaches tools and material, and provides resources.

  • Specialized Groups

We have also run longer, more intensive and specialized workshops to focus on specific populations and presenting issues, such as autistic teens with mental health issues, or transitional age youth heading to post-secondary, and the unique questions and concerns parents usually have in these situations. In these types of workshops, parents get to both share stories, connect and support one another, and access high quality, therapeutic skills-based content for the specific topic being discussed.
