These awards recognise achievements by AILA student & graduate members in the chapters & their potential as future leaders for AILA.
AILA Future Leader Student Award
This award recognises achievement in design, planning, communications, and research that is based upon the development of innovative, creative and practical solutions to landscape architectural challenges. Submissions shall comprise work undertaken as part of formal studies in an Australian landscape architecture course and/or activities and initiatives undertaken while enrolled in the course. The applicant is to be nominated by a program or subject coordinator of the landscape architecture course. The student must be a student member of AILA.
AILA Future Leader Graduate Award
This award recognises achievement in design, planning, communications and research that is based upon the development of innovative, creative and practical solutions to landscape architectural challenges. The submission is to be nominated by a current or former employer. The entrant must be a graduate member of AILA and must have graduated from an Australian landscape architectural course no more than five years previously.
AILA Judging Criteria
Entries will be assessed in terms of demonstrated and recognised outstanding achievement, which may include:
- demonstrated professional practice excellence through innovation, superior communications skills, project management or leadership;
- projects or equivalent initiatives that demonstrate the possibility of providing future leadership to the profession;
- activities or projects that raise the profile and understanding of the profession; leadership and initiatives that address the profession's priorities such as those outlined in the Landscape Charter;
- and a demonstrated enthusiasm, interest, and involvement in the profession of landscape architecture and an understanding of how it might relate to the wider community currently and in the future.
