Dear Friends and Family,
This Pilgrimage marks a meaningful new chapter in the life of the Church of Direct Experience.
For the first time, our three sacramental traditions—Yagé, Sacred Mushroom, and Rosa Divina—will come together within a single ceremonial container. It will also mark the first time that both the Sacred Mushroom and Rosa Divina have been shared on these ancestral lands, in harmony with the lineage, music, wisdom, and living traditions that have shaped this work for generations.
This Pilgrimage is an invitation into a living ceremonial tradition.
For ten days, we will share daily life with Taita Luis, his family, and the broader Sachawasi community. Ceremony becomes one expression of a much larger experience that includes ancestral music, traditional teachings, sunrise river purification, plant saunas, mambe conversations with Taita Luis, jungle walks, individual consultations, shared meals, quiet reflection, laughter, and the countless unscripted moments that naturally arise when people live together in a place where these traditions continue to flourish.
The intention is not intensity for its own sake. Each element has been thoughtfully arranged to support preparation, purification, reflection, understanding, reverence, and Direct Experience. The sacraments are held within a larger rhythm of nature, community, learning, music, and integration so that each participant may approach the experience with respect, humility, and readiness.
Approximately forty-five days before our arrival in Colombia, we will begin a guided preparation container consisting of educational materials, group discussions, dietary preparation, practical guidance, and medical screening. Following our return, we will continue together through an integration container designed to help participants thoughtfully incorporate their experience into daily life.
