• 2026-27 MBA Mentorship Program Registration

  • Welcome to the MBA Mentorship Program!

Please fill out the following form to help us assess how we can best support you and pair you with a mentor. Please note that although we will do our best to pair mentees with a mentor of their choice, this process takes into consideration a variety of factors including capacity, distribution of workload, and geography and cannot guarantee a specific pairing.

A friendly reminder, the MBA Mentorship Program is open to current MBA Members. You can become a member (or renew your membership!) here: www.mbband.org/membership

A virtual Kick-Off session will take place on Wednesday, September 2nd, 7pm via Zoom. You will recieve the link in the confirmation e-mail after you submit this registration form.

If you have any questions please contact Brent Johnson, Executive Director, at executivedirector@mbband.org or 204-663-1226.

  • Our first in-person event, The MBA Mentorship Prelude Day will take place on Friday, October 9th at John Henderson School in Winnipeg (River East Transcona S.D.). The morning will be spent observing experienced music educator Laura Zinn, followed by lunch nearby, and then a debrief in the afternoon followed by a discussion addressing relevant topics generated by participants. Are you able to attend? Note: there will be a separate registration for this event that will open in the fall, and a modest fee of about $20.*
  • To help Mentees build relationships with their school administrators, the MBA Mentorship program will provide a personalized letter outlining what the program entails and how we are supporting their music educators. This will also help you with release time requests for in-person PD events such as the October 9, 2026 Prelude Conference Day, and a February 5, 2027 Jazz 101 Workshop.
