About Nature Niños
Nature Niños is a New Mexico-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to the outdoors for youth and families. Through outdoor recreation, environmental education, conservation projects, social-emotional learning, workforce development, and community partnerships, Nature Niños helps youth build confidence, skills, stewardship, and a lifelong connection to nature.
Why Serve on the Board?
Board members help guide the strategic direction, financial sustainability, governance, and long-term impact of Nature Niños. We are seeking engaged leaders who are passionate about youth, community, conservation, and expanding equitable access to the outdoors.
Current Board Needs
• Finance, accounting, bookkeeping, banking, or budgeting expertise
• Fundraising and donor development experience
• Community engagement and partnership building
• Experience in youth job training and/or workforce development
• Governance and strategic planning
• Outdoor recreation, conservation, and youth development advocates
• Individuals willing to serve as ambassadors for Nature Niños
Board Service Expectations
Board members are expected to support the mission and values of Nature Niños; attend quarterly board meetings and occasional special meetings; review materials before meetings; participate in strategic planning; exercise fiduciary responsibility; support fundraising efforts; serve as ambassadors in the community; maintain confidentiality; participate in committees or projects as needed; and dedicate approximately 3–6 hours per month to board service.
