    Walking and standing is required for the entire day for this job. Lifting, bending, squatting and many other physically demanding tasks are required as well. Anyone with a physical condition requiring sitting, frequent rest, or anything that prevents walking and standing for periods of 8-10 hours will not be able to fulfill the requirements for this position.

    You will need to be available 10 AM to 6 PM, Tuesday through Friday,

    9 AM to 5 PM Saturday with an alternative schedule of 6 AM to 2 PM

    Tuesday through Saturday possible as well. If you cannot work these hours, do not apply for the job.

    A drug test will be required before employment begins.

    STEPS TO HIRING:

    Initial Phone Interview
    In Person Interview
    Work Interview - after initial interviews, you may be selected to participate in a work interview. The work interview is a period of 2 days during which time you come in for normal working hours and actively participate in the daily tasks of the position you are applying for. This gives you an opportunity to see exactly what the job/work environment is like before making any long term commitments. After the work interview you may be selected to begin a provisional period of temporary employment. All work interviewees will be paid at the rate of $8.25 per hour for the duration of the work interview process.
    Provisional Temporary Employment - this is a 2 week further extension of the work interview process. During this time you may or may not work the number of hours or the schedule you are being hired for.
    Employment can be terminated at any time during this period as potential employee has not been fully hired and is still under a provisional trial period.
    Provisional Semi Permanent Employment - this is an 8 week period during which training and further evaluation of ability to learn, following instructions, attitude, work ethic, and production capabilities are evaluated. Employment can be terminated at any time during this period as potential employee has not been fully hired and is still under a provisional trial period.
    Fully Hired Employee
    McEntyre's Bakery is closed for 2 weeks during the summer (typically the first 2 weeks of July, sometimes begins at the very end of June) and for the week (+/- a few days) directly after Christmas. We are open the Monday before Thanksgiving, the Monday before Christmas, we are closed Thanksgiving Day (but open all other regular days that week) and are closed Christmas Day. We typically close at 3:00 PM on Christmas Eve. After one year of employment, full time employees will be paid for the average number of hours worked per week for these weeks McEntyre's Bakery is closed (full time qualifies as an average of 35 hours or more per week, based on average hours worked during the period between vacation closings immediately prior to the current closing).

    If you have scheduling conflicts around the time of the following, they must be noted on your application. Not conflicts on or around:

    Valentine's Day, Mardi Gras Tuesday, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Graduation time (end of April through end of May), Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.

    Uniform will consist of khaki pants, shirt provided by McEntyre's Bakery,non-skid rubber sole type closed-toe shoes, hair net OR hat with hair net (hat must be approved by management). No visible tattoos (any visible tattoos must be covered), all visible piercings other than standard earring type piercings must be removed during work hours, all hair must be contained within a hair net (no loose hair at all), no long fingernails, no excessively large or long necklaces/chains/etc. (will be evaluated by management).
