FICHE Archery Camps

Focusing on skills that make stronger, more confident sportsmen.

Who can attend?  Ages 7 and up, male OR female. 

Who cannot attend?  Chldren not yet 7 years old. Adults 19 and older.

When: August 3-7, Monday - Thursday   

We are offering camps for three different divisions.  See the info and times below.

Where: Maranatha Baptist Church gym, 1845 S. Highway 76, Newcastle, OK  73065.

Cost: $60-$95, depending on division. This fee inlcudes camp t-shirt, equipment, gym rent, instructors, etc.

Camp attire: Longer hair MUST be pulled back into a pony tail.  This is a safety protocol.  

Athletic/tennis shoes are also required.  NO sandals, NO boots, NO black-soled shoes, NO barefeet, NO heels.  (Street shoes can only be worn on the red concrete floor, but NOT the gym floor.)

Athletic wear that fits the FICHE dress code.  This includes knee-length shorts, and any leggings or yoga pants must be covered by knee-length shorts or skirts. Tank tops must be at least 2" wide. (Ladies, no open under-arm shirts without another appropriate one underneath.) No loose fitting clothing that can get caught in the bows.  You can view the entire FICHE dress code on page 2 here   

Safety First. Archery is the safest sport next to table tennis. We strive to create a safe environment for our archers and as such reserve the right to remove any archer from camp who cannot follow the rules.

Christ Always.  This camp is hosted by Fellowship of Independent Christian Home Educators, a Christian organization.  At FICHE (pronounced "fish"), we speak freely of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.  Prayers are also part of our activities, including archery camps. 

Deep Waters Archery Club.  This is the name of FICHE's archery club. (Just in case anyone is confused by the different names.)

Camp Divisons and Info

Archery offers children far more than just the excitement of hitting a target—it helps them develop valuable life skills that extend well beyond the range. As young archers learn proper technique and safety practices, they build mental focus and self-discipline by concentrating on each shot and practicing patience. The sport also improves hand-eye coordination, balance, and overall body awareness. With every goal achieved and skills mastered, children gain confidence in their abilities and learn to trust themselves. Archery can also provide a healthy outlet for relaxation and stress relief, allowing kids to slow down, focus their minds and growth. Whether participating individually or with others, young archers learn the importance of teamwork, encouragement, and good sportsmanship, creating positive connections with their peers while developing character and resilience.

BEGINNERS Division  9-9:45am   Ages 7-9  $60 per athlete  Limit: 15 students

This class is for our littles that cannot shoot a genesis bow. This is a small kids archery class for students who know there 11 steps and have been in previous classes.

INTERMEDIATE Division  10-11:15am  Ages 10-13  $95 per athlete  Limit: 15 students

This class will be using the Genesis bow. 

Those that are in this Division have been shooting in class previously and know their 11 steps of archery. We will be growing our skills with interactive games and lessons. The skills that we will focus on in this Division are:
• Lots of new fun games
• Introduction to Nasp competitions for those wishing to
• Working on learning scoring cards
• Working on adding accuracy and distance to shots

This division will attend a "field trip" to Archery Traditions in Yukon. This will be Thursday 11am-1pm.  Parents must be present or designate a guardian.  The cost for this excursion is included in the camp fee. 

 

HIGH SCHOOL Division  11:30-12:30pm  Ages 14 & up  $95 per athlete  Limit: 15 students 

This division is for our high school students who are ready to take their archery skills to the next level. This class is for those who would like to join the Varsity Team this fall. We will be preparing students to use the new Varsity compound bows and the dynamics of competion.

Additional Camp T-shirts

Each athlete receives one camp t-shirt.  Additional shirts are available for parents, siblings, athletes, etc. 

Each additional t-shirt is $15.  This will be payable on the first day of camp, unless you choose to mail that amount sooner.

Release and Waiver of Liability

,Being the parent/guardian of a child(ren) participating in activities with Fellowship of Independent Christian Home Educators and Maranatha Baptist Church, hereby freely and voluntarily, without duress, execute this Release and Waiver of Liability under the following terms:

Waiver and Release.  I hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless Fellowship of Independent Christian Home Educators, hereby known as FICHE; and Maranatha Baptist Church, hereby known as Maranatha, and its leadership/volunteers/directors/teachers/pastors and all those related in any form or fashion, from any and all liability claims, demands, and causes of action, of whatever kind of nature, either in law or equity, which may hereafter arise from my being a part of FICHE and Maranatha and their property.

I understand and acknowledge that this Release discharges FICHE and Maranath from any liability or claim that I may have against FICHE or Maranatha with respect to any bodily or other injury, illness, death or property damage that may result from my being present at FICHE and Maranatha.  I also understand that FICHE and Maranatha does not assume any responsibility or obligation to provide financial assistance, including, but not limited to, medical, health, or disability insurance, in the event of injury, illness death, or property damage.

Medical Treatment.  I hereby release and forever discharge FICHE from any and all claims, demands and causes of action whatsoever that may arise or may hereafter arise on account of any first aid or other medical treatment rendered by FICHE.

Assumption of Risk.  I understand that my presence with FICHE and Maranath for whatever purpose and/or any projects, activities or events sponsored, managed, arranged or promoted by, or otherwise affiliated or associated with FICHE or Maranatha may include activities that may be hazardous to me. I further recognize and understand that such participation may involve certain inherently dangerous activities.  I hereby expressly and specifically assume the risk of injury or harm in the activities and release FICHE and Maranatha from all liability for injury, illness, death and/or property damage that may result.

Other.  I expressly understand and agree that this Release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law, and that this Release shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Oklahoma.  I agree that in the event that any clause or provision of this Release shall be held to be invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such clause or provision shall not otherwise affect the remaining provisions of this Release.

Medical Release

Parent’s or Guardian’s Authorization for adult in charge to consent to emergency medical or dental treatment of minor child and the parent cannot be reached.  

Camp Registration Fee

You can pay all or half now.  You can pay via PayPal or mail payment to FICHE, P.O. Box 1553, Blanchard OK  73010.

At least HALF of the registration must be received by July 20 to secure your registration for camp. This can be sent electronically or via the mail.
