ROLE OVERVIEW
As a key member of the Marketing and Communications team, reporting to the Head of the Team, this role is responsible for developing and implementing PR, communications and content strategies to strengthen awareness, reputation and support for Save the Children Hong Kong. The position collaborates closely with internal teams, global offices, agencies and external stakeholders to delivery impactful communications assets, compelling content and media engagement that reflect and advance the organisation’s mission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assistant Team Head on developing and implementing annual PR and communications strategies and plans, including storyline, message hierarchy and communications calendar to unify brand voice, elevate brand awareness, strengthen public engagement and support for the organisation mission while safeguarding its reputation.
- Develop and gatekeep all corporate communications assets and handle issue/crisis management, line-to-take, key messages, Q&As, internal communications and executive communications, to enhance the organisation’s credibility and trust.
- Assist in all PR and editorial plan and activation, media relations, pitching materials, press kits, Q&As, briefing notes, news monitoring, and provide support to spokespersons for interviews and public appearances.
- Support in integrated content planning and creation across social media, eDMs, multimedia, websites, events and publications, ensuring consistent and compelling messages aligned with organisational priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, celebrities, influencers and key external stakeholders to secure quality coverage and partnerships that support organisation goals.
- Act as brand safe-guarder, provide strategic communications support for other teams, co-creating PR campaigns, publications and materials that drive stakeholder engagement and brand recognition.
- Manage agencies and external vendors, budgets and timelines, and regularly evaluate the impact and ROI of projects assigned for continuous improvement.
- Undertake ad hoc projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

University degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing or a related discipline.

At least 7 years’ relevant experience in corporate communications, public relations, and executive communications, with journalism and/or PR agency background a PLUS.

Solid experience in PR and communications assets creation, excellent storytelling and copywriting skills in English and Chinese as well as solid multimedia content development experience and knowledge in branding.

Proven media relations experience with strong news sense, sound judgement and issue management experience; NGO or social sector experience is an advantage.

Strong project management, organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
