The Engagement Excellence Award recognises an individual, team and / or organisation who has displayed exceptional marketing and communications ingenuinty to drive adoption, uptake and engagement of SafeZone. 

Candidates should demonstrate how they have successfully encouraged and supported the use of SafeZone within their user community, ensuring continuous engagement and advocacy. Submissions should highlight strategic marketing efforts that have led to measurable increases in SafeZone adoption, user engagement and / or cross-departmental support, including at the executive level. An example of this would be the development and execution of an innovative marketing campaign to promote registration of SafeZone during a major event. 

Whether through campaigns, events or other programmes, candidates should explain how they have built excitement around SafeZone and engaged internal or external audiences to support the platform's success at their organisation. 

Submissions will be assessed on the following:

• Marketing and communication strategies that have driven SafeZone adoption and / or uptake
• Unique or innovative approaches to promoting SafeZone
• Efforts to secure organisation-wide support and buy-in of SafeZone
• Evidence of SafeZone's growing impact at your organisation
• Initiatives that ensure continued engagement and advocacy of SafeZone

The Strategic Impact Award recognises an individual, team and / or organisation that has demonstrated exceptional executive leadership, sponsorship and strategic commitment to the adoption and long-term success of SafeZone within their institution. 

Candidates should demonstrate how executive engagement and leadership have helped embed SafeZone into strategic priorities, resulting in measurable outcomes such as increased adoption, stronger organisational alignment, improved operational capability, enhanced governance or sustained long-term investment. Examples may include:

• Driving collaboration across various teams and departments 
• Gaining Board or executive approval for a significant SafeZone rollout or expansion
• Embedding or mandating SafeZone within organisational polices and frameworks
• Securing long-term / multi-year investment into SafeZone
• Leading an organisation-wide implementation of SafeZone (particularly relevant if this involves integrating with other systems or technologies)
• Driving executive collaboration that resulted in measurable improvements to safety, communication and operational resilience across the organisation

Submissions will be assessed on the following:

• Demonstrated executive leadership, sponsorship and advocacy for SafeZone
• Strategic initiatives that have embedded SafeZone into organisational priorities and operations
• Evidence of organisation-wide collaboration, alignment and long-term commitment
• Measurable results from executive engagement and investment into SafeZone
• Examples of leadership that have strengthened organisational resilience and preparedness through SafeZone

The Innovation in Action Award celebrates the individual, team and / or organisation that has demonstrated outstanding creativity and innovation in the way they have implemented and utilised SafeZone to solve challenges, improve outcomes or deliver new capabilities. 

Candidates should demonstrate how they have gone beyond standard use cases to develop innovative approaches that maximise the value of SafeZone. Examples may include:

• Developing custom workflows or response procedures using SafeZone
• Integrating SafeZone with other business systems or technologies (e.g. CCTV)
• Introducing new ways to support community members working or studying alone
• Using location intelligence or reporting to inform operational decision-making
• Adapting SafeZone to support large-scale events, major projects or unique organisational requirements

Submissions should highlight the problem or opportunity that inspired the innovation, the approach taken and the outcomes achieved. Whether through technology, process improvement, collaboration or creative thinking, candidates should explain how their initiative has enhanced safety, resilience, community or the overall user experience.

Submissions will be assessed on the following:
 

• Original and innovative use of SafeZone to address organisational challenges or opportunities
• Creativity in developing new workflows, processes, integrations or use cases
• Evidence of measurable improvements or positive outcomes resulting from the innovation
• Scalability, sustainability or broader organisational impact of the initiative
• Lessons learned and how the innovation has contributed to advancing the use of SafeZone

The Outstanding Response & Co-ordination Award celebrates the individual, team and / or organisation that has demonstrated outstanding management of both business-as-usual (BAU) events and critical incidents using SafeZone. 

Candidates must demonstrate how SafeZone supports their day-to-day operations, as well as how they leverage the platform to respond quickly and effectively to more high-stakes incidents (e.g. adverse weather events, cyber threats, power/internet outages, protests, mass casualty events etc.).

In particular, submissions should highlight how SafeZone supports prevention and mitigation measures, as well as rapid response and recovery. A comprehensive and well-coordinated strategy that incorporates the use of SafeZone to achieve the best outcome for your organisation's community is key to winning this award.

Submissions will be assessed on the following:

• How SafeZone is used in daily operations and routine event management
• Case studies of outstanding incident response and mitigation using SafeZone
• Evidence of how SafeZone has contributed to holistic safety strategies
• How SafeZone has helped improve communication and co-ordination across your organisation, particularly where your organisation has legal or regulatory compliance obligations
• Any particular initiatives or strategies where SafeZone played a critical role in the outcome

The SafeZone Champion of the Year Award honours an individual, team or organisation that has shown extraordinary dedication to advocating for SafeZone within their organisation or user community. 

Candidates should demonstrate how they have driven adoption, facilitated education, and fostered a community of enhanced safety and wellbeing around SafeZone. This can include efforts such as engaging new SafeZone users, training staff, leading discussions, sharing best practices, influencing decision-making at the executive level, and earning external recognition through regional, national or international accolades. 

This award is about celebrating those who are passionate about SafeZone and have successfully influenced their peers and user community to recognise the value of the platform, whilst continuing to embed it across their organisation. 

Submissions will be assessed on the following:

• Initiatives to educate and / or engage users on SafeZone's capabilities
• Proven impact from their advocacy efforts in promoting adoption of SafeZone
• Leading or contributing to their user community and knowledge sharing
• Long-term engagement initiatives that drive sustained advocacy and usage of SafeZone
• Examples of how they have helped their community (e.g. end-users, leadership teams) recognise the value of SafeZone, converting them into long-term advocates too

1. Submissions should be between 500 to 2000 words maximum, excluding any supporting assets.
   
   
2. Each organisation can submit for one or multiple award categories, however we select a maximum of one winner per organisation/year.
   
   
3. All entries are based on Chatham House Rules.  
   
   
4. We may wish to use some of the content you submit as part of your nomination during the winners presentation at the SafeZone Annual Conference Awards Ceremony. If we do, we will reach out to you for approval ahead of the event. 
   
   
5. We highly encourage you to provide specific examples to support why your nomination deserves to win the award, along with quantified metrics and supporting assets to strengthen your submission.
   
   
6. Submissions will be reviewed after 18 September 2026 by a panel of randomly selected members of the CriticalArc team. A winner for each award category will be selected and announced at the SafeZone Annual Conference Awards Ceremony on 20 October 2026.
   
   
7. Award submissions are due by 18 September 2026. Any nominations made after this deadline may not be considered.
